Hero: kk on the button, stack: 1525
villain's stack 1285

preflop:

utg + 3 so middle pos. raises 150
villain one seat to my right calls 150
hero then raises 300 to make it 450
first raiser folds
villain shoves all in,
hero calls.
Villain: AK
Hero: KK

Flop is 5h Jh 10d, turn: qc, river 2h

Should I not be calling this much or raising this much before the flop? In a small stakes 9person sng? What could I hav done differently to gain a better result?

it`s cooler,but dont minraise with KK,raise more with raise and call already, raise 3BB as minimum.

So your saying call or min raise at least 3bbs? Sounds good because if I call and then shove on the flop he has to decide if he wants to be all in and drawing for a straight. That'd probably get him to fold more often then not and i'd be in good shape.

You have to raise this hand before the flop to protect your hand against Ax.
I don't like calling here because many players won't give you action with hands like AQ on the flop if they don't hit. However if you reraise before the flop (how you did) then they call you and with a hand like KK you definitely want to get it all in preflop.

I would have to know what the Utg players stack is in case it is about the same I would raise it to 550 preflop because one of the players already called the raise.

You played the hand fine.

In fact, you could probably raise to a bit more than 450 at a low-stakes sng with two players already in the hand. As V says above, with KK you *don't want everyone to fold*! Here you got all in against AK, which is great. Most of the time you win a huge pot. That's what you want!

well there really isnt anything you can do to gain a better result because you cant change the cards that come, you got it in with 70% equity which is great. This happens sometimes, but I think you played the hand correctly. You want every chip you have in pre flop with KK and you did that.
