cove is best but most expensive by far

next tier is royal and coral. royal area in gernal is nicer and the rooms seem nicer but you have to walk a long-ass way thru the casino to get from ur room to the poker room, and its a long walk to get anyway. coral is half the length to the poker room and more centrally located but the rooms/area are just "okay"

i happen to enjoy walking so my vote is royal. gl.

Last year, I really life-nitted and stayed about 2 miles away from Atlantis at wyndham hotel. I was able to get rt flight and 4 nights for $500. Obv Atlantis is way better, but wyndham is a decent option, esp for those who are spending time with family, gf/bf, etc, or for whom the party life isn't a priority.

Anyone stayed at Reef before?

I've stayed at Reef and Royal. Royal has rooms that I'd consider adequate. They aren't great and considering the price you're paying they're downright horrible. But the walk to the casino area isn't that bad. 10 minutes maybe for a casual walker. Coral is a bit closer but the rooms are not adequate. I've been in friends rooms there and I would def. never ever choose to stay there.

Reef rooms are very nice. I think many of them are condos so they all contain dishwasher, stovetop, etc. You have a full balcony there as opposed to Royal. The rooms have a much newer feel. It's a much quieter area also. However, if you plan on walking, it's a loooooong walk. Probably a 20 minute walk to get to the convention area where the tournament is. But, if you utilize the shuttles to get you over to Beach tower or somewhere closer to the convention area it's not awful. There's also a covered walkway which is actually a very nice walk when you're in the mood for it. I would stay at the Reef again and probably will this year.

If you win a package through Stars you can upgrade for just under $500. Availability is probably limited, blah blah blah.

Give me a break. No one other than the miners trapped in Chile can complain about anything related to their jobs, right?

I'm fairly confident that complaints made on 2p2 last year led to the changes of: (1) giving a rebate to those stuck in the Coral this year (which I've heard is happening but haven't seen anything official yet); and (2) having a reasonably priced HR bounty shootout.

Other people having worse lives than us shouldn't result in us not being willing to speak up when we get ripped off by gazillion-dollar corporations. And the things are not independent -- paying more than we should for access to tournaments makes it more difficult to sustain playing poker for a living.

having a 5k bounty shooutout capped at 81 people is worse than the previous system, now 100 people are going to get locked out

It's really bad, but nevertheless probably better than the previous system. Last one had at least 1/3 the field bought in by Stars via sponsorship or satellite overlay IIRC.

Hi All,

Todd - 31 - I talked to a number of players at EPT London about the buyin for future BSO's. 25K too high, 10K could have issues selling out depending venue, 5K guaranteed sell out especially with 3 hours ESPN time on top. If we turn away a significant number at the PCA, then we will know to probably adjust the NAPT Season 2 BSO's to 10K.

JP - 35 - Looking like early December for online DBI to all PCA Events. Homanga is right though, ninja sell out on that and the 5K Heads Up as well I think.

Homanga - 42 - The 5K's at the PCA draw 150 - 300 players each year. Since this is a single winner shootout, there are people who will not want to play this format regardless of the buyin. So 150 is probably about the right amount and we would rather have a guaranteed sellout, than an event we are struggling to reach our cap on. A 10K might struggle getting to 81, a 5K should sell out 100% of the time.

Fatal - 50 - Unlikely for this year.

Aqua - 53 - Interesting Choice. The 2+2 Pokercast guys will explain the PCA 2+2 Choice Event in their threads soon

kk405 - 58 - That is our goal this year!

Awice - 59 -

1 - Late reg for all PCA Events will most likely be 1 hour with a couple exceptions. 2 Hours on the Main and 4 hours on the High Rollers. There should be no sell outs for any events, we have 150+ tables this year. Last year only problem was the 1K 6 Max and that has been moved to a better day this year.

2 - That is definitely being considered!

3 - Most likely, Chinese is going to be deleted and replaced.

Awice - 60 - Has to be something I can convince the Bahamian Gaming Authority is a real game

JP - 67 - WCOOP Bracelet Ceremony will be at PCA this year!

Todd - 77 - A change this year, from the PCA FAQ http://www.pokerstars.com/caribbean-adventure/faq/

Q - I have won a full package or purchased a package (Seat+Hotel+Food Credit or Seat+Hotel) for the PCA. What accommodation do i get?

A - Players who have won a full package or purchased a package that includes hotel accommodation will get a room at the Atlantis Resort for them and one guest for 9 nights from either Jan 7 or Jan 8. Rooms will be split across the Royal Tower and the Coral Tower. Players will be issued rooms on a first come first served basis. The cost of the hotel package is calculated using the per night cost of Royal Tower rooms. Any player who is assigned to or voluntarily chooses a room at the Coral Tower will have the cost difference between a Coral Tower room and a Royal Tower room added onto their room food credit to spend at the Atlantis Resort.

Freefalling - 86 - We will play any cash game the players want, more or less. If you can get enough players who want to play it, we can usually spread it. Lots of 1/2, lots 2/5, some 5/10, 10/25, 25/50, 50/100 and usuall at least one 100/200. Plenty of PLO. Usually very little if any limit unless it is mixed. Couple years back there was a 300/600 B-E-H-O-T (Badugi, S8, holdem, O8, Triple Draw).

Rake - Last year was $4 w/ $1 taken every $10 on 1/2 and 2/5. Then time drop per half hour on the bigger games. $5 for 5/10, $6 10/25, $7 25/25, etc... As for good or bad, lady friend of mine player her first ever live there and took a 1/2 for $400 while, shall we say, a little tipsy...lol. Don't know if that makes them good games or bad

Neil:

1. Thanks for charging a lower rate for Coral, much needed. Will you know soon after you qualify and/or buy-in which hotel you will be assigned to?

2. Are the room upgrade rates available yet?

3. IMO I don't think there's any doubt that at the PCA a $10K televised bounty shootout with a cap of 81 would sell out. Mohegan might be iffier, $5K might be better there. This is definitely a step in the right direction, though, and is much appreciated. Hopefully the next step will be getting rid of the shootout format.

Yeah, Todd, just finished doing the regonline stuff and the rates were available there. Was something like $3.5k extra for a regal suite at Coral, $1500 extra for a Cove Suite and $500 extra for a Reef Studio Suite, which I went for... can anyone tell me if Reef Atlantis is a long way from the poker room and if the Reef is nicer generally?

Hi All,

Todd - 145 -

1 - All of it is up on Regonline. All of the room choices and upgrades are available.

2 - Above.

3 - I think we could get 81 for 10K at PCA also, but I'm not 100%. I'm 1000% we can hit that for 5K. The Shootout Format is part of our deal with ESPN for NAPT Season 1 and 2 only

Bakes - 147 - The PokerStars Bank details have not changed at this time.

Cheers,

+1m to cove being worth it for sure.

Also for this 5k shootout, has anything been said as to when you can reg for this? Agree with others that an 81 player cap seems ridic. There's prob 81 stars pros alone that will just be guaranteed registration in it.

if there are 81 stars pros i think that they have too many stars pros!
