This is a hand played by a friend on Pacific Poker. It belongs to a 109$ satelite with 2 tickets guaranteed of 530$. They were in the bubble and both players were very agressive.

BB was playing 27/21/11 and SB 36/29/16 in 120 hands.

He said table dynamic forced him to shove and after introducing the hand in Holdem Resources we checked it was not a huge mistake.

What do you think about it? Do you like this line?

B/4b jam? Would depend on flow I think. Given the aggression, i think it makes sense in a vacuum.

Well, what was the table dynamics to make him open shove 24BB ?

yeah not sure how can we Jam 24bb with ICM being so tight..
But if you think about with ICM, they probably ever calling with QQ+ if not KK/AA.
Not sure, but I think raise/decide is way better than jamming.
If villains don't understand ICM, they may call our push with AJ type hands where we're flipping with only 5%+ advantage.
You can justify the jam if your friend didn't have any edge over the Villains and was being bullied around post flop, as he mentioned he had no choice, but not sure what he means by that.

Nah, he had an edge over the villains so I can't understand his shove either. I prefer to play patiently against them, it doesn't matter if they are agressive, crazy or whatever.

When you introduce the hand in Holdem Resources it doesn't seem to be a huge mistake, it's just a non profitable shove: 0,00bbs, really border. And they could just call with JJ+, AK, what they didn't do because bb called with 88.

What stack size would you shove in this situation?

With ICM so tight, from my guess there are tons of hands we must fold to avoid 0 or negative ICM spots, allowing the Vs to level themselves, especially setting them up to sb vs bb situations.
Hard to tell when we start pushing, because Vs don't understand ICM, we need to push a little tight, and have FE at the same time. maybe from 15bb we start looking for re-steal shove/shove spots, but that would be my estimate guess in-game. Probably theory will tell you a little different.

But shoving the SB seems legit.
