Hey Todd Terry are you related to the guy who played a pot w/ Phil Ivey on ESPN this year?

I think his name was Bill Terry.

All--

From Terrence Chan's blog:

Quote:
Annoyance: At one point the ace of spades was dealt on the river and we noticed it was really bent. So we asked the floor for a new one. The dealer puts in the new deck and we continue playing; the floor gets us (what we thought was) a new ace of spades. Then on the next dealer push someone shows down AA and again it is pointed out that the ace of spades is bent. We ask the floor to replace it. The process repeats. After the next dealer push I am dealt the As5h early and muck the 5. I leave the As in front of me face down. It is so bowed the middle of the card is not touching the felt. I say, "anyone want to guess what card this is?" I can't believe the floor had the gall to give us back the same card *twice* and just think we wouldn't notice or care. We're playing for nearly a million dollars and they can't bother to get a new card fro a $3 deck.
Thought some here would be interested.

All my best,

--Nate

They probably did replace the card, i've seen this problem before when I used to deal. Some casinos store their decks in a cold/humid room and this causes the decks to bow a little bit and the card on top (Ace of spades) is the one on top.

Chipleader Terrence Chan Takes a Big Pot From Soheil Shamseddin

Level 14: 2,500-5,000, 500 ante

Eric Froehlich raises under the gun to 13,000, Soheil Shamseddin calls from middle position, and Michael Mizrachi calls from the button. Terrence Chan reraises big from the small blind (we didn't catch the amount), Froehlich folds, Soheil calls, and Mizrachi folds.

The flop comes 5spade4heart3heart, Chan bets 90,000, Soheil raises to 200,000, and Chan moves all in. Soheil folds, leaving himself just 195,000, and Terrence Chan increases his chip lead as he becomes the first to cross the million-chip mark.

Terrence Chan - 1,200,000
Soheil Shamseddin - 195,000

and

Soheil Shamseddin Doubles Through Terrence Chan

Level 14: 2,500-5,000, 500 ante

David Vaillancourt raises to 15,000 from early position and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi and Terrence Chan call. Soheil Shamseddin is in the big blind and decides to come along for the flop as well. The flop falls Jspade8spade8diamond and Vaillancourt checks. Mizrachi bets 16,000, Chan raises to 42,000 total and Shamseddin moves all-in for around 225,000. Vaillancourt and Mizrachi quickly fold and Chan gets a count before he calls with 9spadeTspade for an open-ended straight flush draw.

Shamseddin turns up 2heart8club for trip eights, which hold as the turn and river come 6club then Kdiamond. He doubles up and Chan dips back under the million chip mark.

Soheil Shamseddin - 515,000
Terrence Chan - 990,000

And they say tournament poker is dead.
