A few interesting things to note here:

1. The Super Tuesday was already quite deep after the recent structure change; it will be interesting if some now think it's too deep.

2. The prize structure in the Super Tuesday is roughly 11.1-12%, depending on the number of players.

3. The 'flatness' of any pay structure has nothing to do with churning rake.

Having said all of that, I hope that you enjoy the Super Tuesday.

Arsenal are far from dreadful; they're simply missing their best player and need a bit of size to cope with the toughest league in the world. With the same squad, they'd be dominating any of Serie A, Bundesliga, etc...

Same could be said about any other top tier league. In Italy for example, with the exception of the two Milan teams the league sucks

I estimate that the number players who will complain about the Super Tuesday being too deep now will be zero. Unless Daniel Negreanu decides to play one week, in which case it might rise to one.

What is the reason for flatter payout structures if not to churn rake?

Arsenal are just dreadful compared to the best teams in the world. They are the best of a bad bunch

Who are these best teams in the world you speak of?

Barcelona, Man Utd & Chelsea are the only teams that can be argued to be better than Arsenal.

Behave.

When they're playing at their best, Arsenal are the best XI in the world and it's not even close. Arsenal at their best are better, by leaps and bounds, than anyone else at their best.

(and yes, I'd be saying that even if I didn't support them... even Arsenal haters have to admit that watching an in-form Arsenal is enjoying football as it is meant to be played)

Well, we'll see... it will be interesting to see how long the tournament takes, that's for certain.

A while back, we did beef up the final tables quite a bit (the pay tables used to be significantly flatter)... as many noticed when the top prizes went up, most noticeably in the Sunday majors. I think we've got a good balance now between overly top-heavy and overly flat.

They play great football and are fantastic at their best which is useless because they so rarely play their best

:%s/useless/frustrating

Need to sign a few finished products in silly season, imo. One or two more like Vermaelen wouldn't go amiss.

Some people try overly hard to be the 'reasonable fan' so as not to avoid being a homer. *grin*

Also, some people live and die with the team and it's been a particularly rough patch the last few matches... 1 point from 9. If the Gunners start a nice run on Wednesday against the You'll Never Win Again crowd, after a few weeks there will bubbling optimism again.

As for season tickets, one of the very few things I can think of about living in London that I would prefer over living here on the Isle of Man is that if we lived there, we'd be Arsenal season ticket holders. As it is, I make it to about three or four matches a year.
