Hey Bryan,
Thanks much for the added level in the kickoff, Rounder and I were always bitching about T500 specifically, so glad the data you looked at matched what we were bitching about
.
I'm glad to see the $215 omaha variants added back into the rotation, but I feel that they start too early. I completely understand your thoughtwave on the lower bi's being like a 2nd chance, but the problem is that there aren't many mid-hs regs that are playing at this hour and I feel the field sizes of the 215s would be much larger if they were actually 1-2 hours after the $82s, so I think they would be better if they were flipped.
My reasoning is going to sound cliche, but it's also true. It's not 2010 or any time before that anymore, there's not INF traffic/rec pool, games run around regs, especially once you get to higher stakes. A $215 buyin, especially being a non holdem variant, is going to lead to a whole lot less midstake regs playing in it (I'm talking the MTT regs who play up to ~ the Big 162/big afternoon $109 turbo but not bigger mon-fri), and will have very few low stake regs in it. So you think about who will fire this tournament, it's a lot of mid-hs regs who flick in other games like this, myself included in this category. I know I made a post a few days back talking about how bare the early morning schedule is for mid-hs players, so I don't need to go through it again, but there's absolutely 0 reason for a mid-hs mtt pro to be playing before the Big 75 (and honestly as I said many don't start before last min late reg of the 265ko and then jumping into the 109rebuy, many more start with last min reg 109rebuy and getting in the Big 109). Anyway, what I'm getting at is you need to take a look at who will be playing in these tournaments and when those players tend to start playing, I think all 4 tournaments will bequite successful as is, but I think they could do better if they were flipflopped and the bigger bis started where the smaller ones currently start.
I do like that these games are in the morning though as it's quite hard to mix other formats with a bunch of nlhe mtts (idk how you do it fresh_oo_d u sicko!), so it being early in the day should mean more people firing those tournaments compared to if they started during the middle of their sessions. I personally don't think I've ever played that late morning my time (PST) 6max NLO8 tournament that takes place on Saturday because I have too many tables at that point and don't mix formats well, but I play the early morning PLO and PLO games quite often, all of which are 9handed, and I HATE 9 handed omaha games. Oh and obviously thanks for the structure update in the PLO versions, have a strong dislike for the old one and and looking forward to playing all 4 tournaments tomorrow!
Edit: I don't know much about PLO cash traffic, but I have dabbled in 200-1kplo a bit this year and I feel pre Big 75, there's really not much going on most of the time in terms of PLO cg action. This further supports the argument that more regs (cg regs I'm talking about this time and not mtt regs obv) would have the opportunity to fire this tournament if the big versions started when the little versions currently start.
