Who is McLean Karr besides the dude who took a bunch of chips off me defending the BB with 52o (after the dealer brought in the raise of course)?

I any case, do it, Andy!

1. McLean Karr is Maria Ho's boyfriend

2. Claims he has NO home address

3. Came back from 30,000 (by far the short stack) on day 3.

It occurred to me why many of these dealers do this. The vast majority of the games they deal are limit games. So it doesn't affect play as much as it does NL games, although I would rather they still leave the bets out even in limit games.

Matt would probably have to drill into them not to do it before the tournament starts.

from CL to 6th place ... better luck next time Poker Brat

this may go down as the best televised hand in poker history:

Hand #41: Phil Hellmuth Eliminated in 6th Place ($117,000)

Level 24: 10,000-20,000, 3,000 ante

Phil Hellmuth completes the small blind to 20,000, Andy Seth raises from the big blind to 80,000, and Hellmuth reraises to 280,000. Seth thinks for a bit before he moves all in, and Hellmuth calls with QdiamondQspade. Seth shows AclubJclub, and he'll need to improve to bust Hellmuth and claim his bounty.

Seth says, "We need two clubs here, just for the sweat."

The flop comes Kdiamond6spade5spade, and Hellmuth retains the lead. The turn card is the 10heart, giving Seth additional outs to a gutshot straight.

The river card is -- the Aheart.

The crowd explodes in reaction, while Hellmuth just sits at the table, stunned. Hellmuth slowly takes off his sunglasses, takes a deep breath, and shakes hands with the other players at the table.

Then Hellmuth steps off the stage, kneels down, and drops down to the floor in a little ball. The other players expected a blowup, but not this. Someone asks if he needs a doctor, and Seth asks, "Do you think he'll sign my bounty shirt?"

Hellmuth finally gets up, and walks over to one of the WPT producers to tape his exit interview.

If it hasn't been mentioned, Andy Seth wins the pot with a pair of aces, and he also claims the bounty on Shooting Star Phil Hellmuth -- his fourth of the tournament, passing Mclean Karr who busted three Shooting Stars. In addition to a large pot, Seth earns $5,000 and a t-shirt that may or may not be autographed.

1 hour into day 2 Mr. Elon Diamond sat down in a cash game with me, offered to sell $6600 on FT for $6K cash. Presumably he had $4K cash & waned a tourney buyin. No takers. Then he sort of (not really) badgered me into flipping with him for $1K laying me a small amount. I took it & beat him twice in a row. Then he picked up & wandered off. I was surprised to see he had ended up getting into the tourney.

Holy crap, that wasn't the black/red prop you mentioned, was it?

Why not buy the FTP money?

that was a donk 4 bet shove against Helmuth. His limp/3bet range has AJ absolutely crushed. Glad to see Phil wasn't afraid to put it in tho against the aggro spewer kids

I'm hanging out next to the WPT set with my laptop right now.

Long final table!

Amazing how fast they tear this thing down...

Some guy sounds like he's taking a dump, but I guess he's just lifting something heavy.

+1 on this one, Matt. I was a victim of this in the WSOP this past year when I raised from the SB and the dealer auto-pulled in the bets. Obv lost that pot. Let's make it a TDA rule, please.

Yes, technically we played red/black.

Why take $600 when I can win $2060?

Ha, if you could predict he was going to offer the prop when you turned down the Tilt money, you should have also predicted he'd finish seventh. And offered to buy the Tilt money for 10% of his action.

Now that it's over, a few random thoughts -

Matt, the webcam was just freaking fantastic. There were always entertaining personalities on the feature table. It's by far the best way to watch a tournament, other than playing at the table itself. Although I live only 2 miles from Bay 101, I spent more time at home watching the stream than at the casino.

This event is my favorite in all of poker. Even more than the Series, because I always seem to have a couple friends in it to sweat, every table is virtualy guaranteed to have at least one high quality player at it, the density of really good players is high, and it's a lot cheaper for me than Vegas.

I snagged one of the souvenir WPT playing decks that the gal was tossing into the FT audience. Yay, me.
