I haven't made it clear in my original post, thought I had. It's highly likely this kid is stealing the dairy products from a legit milkman, then dumping them outside the homes of his own "customers" in the hope of getting paid. Like I say, I thought I'd implied this more obviously in my initial story but I guess such a situation is kind of unique to the area I live in.

Sometimes he comes at 2am and leaves a litre of semi-skimmed, sometimes it's a 500ml carton of full cream with a side order of orange juice while I'm at work. He's an unpredictable chap, and he seems determined to provide me with dairy products come hell or high water. Sometimes they've perished by the time I discover them, but mostly it's decent quailty stuff. Especially since it's free!

I guess one day there'll be a fun showdown, when he decides to bill me for the stuff he's been leaving on my doorstep since mid winter. But until then, I must say I'm loving the freeroll! He even left me some fromage-frais the other day, and I haven't had them since I was a kid. They were great. Hoping for some milkshakes this week.
