Recreational? Doesnt sound very recreational to me. Yea, it is really bad playing a tournament for a third of your roll, what else is this than "chasing a big score"?

What is recreational then? If I grind 1.50$ SNGs all the time it is really nice when a 55$ table pops up and reminds me that there is not only the 12-table botmode-grind.

Imho there's a difference in blowing your roll on high stakes after you binked a combined 5-fig score and playing 1$ steps (which run maybe once an hour) for less than 20$ per 160$ game.

lol, Stars client randomly deleted all my user settings yesterday so I had to spend ~an hour adjusting everything to how I like it. Figured I'd back up the user.ini file in case it happened again.

Obviously I log in today and everything is gone again. And the backup file is corrupted. THANKS OBAMA

American brothers - what's a feesable $ per day budget for essentials (gas, food, place to sleep) to go on a road trip West to East?

It depends on how many days you are planning on actually being on the road, the place to sleep will definitely be the biggest cost.

Assuming you are driving something with reasonable gas mileage (25 mpg highway) and driving mostly on the highway then I'd expect to spend around $300 on gas (assuming $3 / gallon and 2500 miles). The other part of the expenses is a little more difficult to quantify but I'd say plan on spending an additional $50-$100 per day if you're going to eat cheaply and depending on what level of comfort you are expecting for hotels. Obviously you could spend a lot more than this eating sushi every day and staying at nice hotels.
