Dave - ~20some years ago I had an accident & my rates went from ~$65/mo to $263/mo. Insurance companies do what they want when they see you as a risk. Rates will vary a lot. They are not necessarily going to get a lot better, but they might. Shop around & GL with that.

blouk - Strep or staph on the face = no good either way. My boss once told me about a friend of his who had strep throat. He did not take antibiotics and thought it went away because the symptoms went away after a while. Six months later he was dead because the infection had spread to his heart. Go to a doctor imo.

I second that (see a doctor). I actually had strep toe and nearly lost my foot or at least a couple of toes. It was related in the "Ask Slacker Anything" thread.

Yep.

There are many routers these days that allow two internet connections (eg, ADSL/Cable and wireless). When one fails, it'll automatically switch over to the other. I obviously can't make guarantees, but that should allow you to avoid getting locked out of a hand. Add in an uninterruptible power supply and you'll have a very strong connection.

What's the leniency generally like in the US? In Canada I've heard multiple stories of cops telling people 10-15+ is ok, although it's km/h. If I was a cop I know I'd pull over a lot more people for speeding but people seem to get away with 15-20+ even in the city.

Depends a lot on where you are, and if you are a local or out of towner. General rule is 5 over is ok everywhere.

Depends a lot on the state. In California, 10-15 mph you should generally be fine on the highways, maybe even more if you slow down right away up seeing the CHP.

Other states, they'll pull you over and write you a ticket for going 5-10 mph over the speed limit, tough luck.

In canada I think they start pulling you over at 18 over on the highway. I've driven from home to my uni so many times going 140km/h at like 1am and never got a ticket though.

I just run good at speeding tickets but bad at parking tickets. I've been ticketed twice for parking outside my own house on the street/partially on my lawn and I live on a sidestreet w/ no posted parking regulations.

10 over on the highway, 5 over on residential streets is around what I expect in Texas.

if you watch the way his head hits he probably bit his tounge or cheek or something (I fail at spelling). if he was coughing up blood they wouldn't let him hang out on the sidelines.
