9 handed at this table. other table 9 or 10 players left.

No antes. (yeah, it sucks)

UTG (good player) raises 2bb off a 18bb stack, we are in UTG+2 w/ 99 and 20bb.

What do you do?

What is our 3b range? What is our call range?

What are average stack sizes? It matters a lot. If there are a lot of shorties ready to bust, my jam range could be as tight as QQ+/AK.

If we’re the short stacks and most everybody else is deep, I’d jam 88+/AJ+.

I’m not having a callling range here. Too easy for someone to rejam behind.

So we're basically an average stack. Assuming a normal distribution of stack sizes, I think 99 is just barely not enough to jam here.

I'd probably jam TT+/AQ+/AJs/KQs

how's the table been playing? I actually don't mind calling here if we don't have a lot of active jammer players behind. I think the opener has to play pretty carefully, and we will have position on him and a strong hand.

In a standard tourney, I would jam.

letting them realize their equity with a pair as strong as 99 is disaster if we're playing it
