Im playing on the final table in a live $545
buyin tourney. There are 8 players left out
of 273.
Blinds are at 3K/6K with 1K antes.
The table has been pretty standardly
played,raises from cutoff and button
often.Player to my immediate left is 2nd in
chips and one of the more aggressive
players on the table.I have about 82K.
Im in the small blind and it is folded
around to me and I have pocket 3's.
My table image is quite solid.I think about
raising to 17-19K,but I don't want to
risk the aggressive BB player to move
allin making a play or not and then
folding the best hand or obviouly having
to call in a race there. So I decide to
move allin and hopefully just pick up
the 19K in the middle and move on.
I figure I have more than 60%fold
equity as with my image I think he can
only call with A10 or better in this spot.
Unfortunately for me,he woke up to
JJ and I finished in 8th place in a top
heavy payout structure.Frustrating to
make it that far and bust.
Wrong play?Im not sure if Id play it
different in the same spot or not.
In retrospect, with a little more than
10 bb's I really could raise and fold
to a rearaise,but blind vs blind I
have to think Im good there and
hate to fold the best hand.
Any thoughts???
