Early on, in uSNG. Villain previously lost most of his stack calling three streets with top pair on a very wet board.

I don't see a reason not to cbet flop here, but not happy with my line on the turn. He doesn't quite look like an ATC calling station (yet), and hard to see I'm getting value from anything other than 66-88. As played on the river I figure I'm probably beaten but have odds to call.

Any thoughts on how to play the turn here? Am I right thinking it's time to wait for a better spot?

Im just guessing here. But since you said you dont see any reason not to cbet, you cbet by default? If so, stop that. You need to see betting and checking (and folding and raising) in relation to each other. If you dont see a reason not to cbet there also needs to be a reason why you want to cbet (default is a ****ty reason).

As for your hand. I dont know the opponent, thus my play is this:

I check the flop for a multitude of reasons, if you want me to elaborate I can do so later.

Turn is a very very easy check-call.

Thanks for the comments. I don't yet have enough of a hand sample to properly assess how often I cbet (db was lost in a disk failure a few months back), but I think you're correct that I cbet too much.

If you don't mind elaborating, what are reasons for checking flop here? Combination of out of position, unknown opponent, low blinds, middling hand?

Jam pre. As played, you have 2nd pair, medium kicker IP with backdoor spades, which is the perfect hand to bluff catch with.

Don't ever bet turn.

Haha, was going to say...

Hadn't really thought much about bluff catching potential before; guess I have plenty of smartening up to do. Thanks.
