Pretty sure my parents think I sell weed since they know I don't have a real job and sleep until 2, but haven't seen me on tv. They were definitely skeptical at first, but it wasn't some magical speech that convinced them otherwise, it was more just seeing me happy and enjoying life. I run good at having supportive parents.

I got "but how much did you lose" for the first time the other day. I feel like a real poker player now.
03-01-2010 , 08:47 PM
My parents think I play for play moneyz and free rolls for hats and things. They have begun asking more and more questions about where my money has been coming from as I don't have a "job". I've managed to dodge their questions and plan on claiming I won a **** ton in Vegas when I go for spring break. That should keep them satisfied until I'm completely independent . Although I could likely show them some garfs or sumfin.

Any ideas?
Santa Barbara. Maybe pushing it on the "warm" part as fog rolls through sometimes, etc., but that place is pretty tits IMO and a good Vegas antidote. Golf, beach, and good/more-chill-nightlife.

I'm sure a lot of places further South on the Coast would be pretty tits as well.

I love that game they made about Caligula where you have a different attack for every key on the keyboard.

I don't live too far from the Trump National Golf Course or the Hard Rock in Hollywood, but not anywhere near you.

* - I watch hockey rarely, so take this for what its worth.

I didnt think Luongo was bad, but he looked nervous as hell several times. Miller was better and clearly more composed, so maybe that's why some people are saying Luongo stunk. Canada seemed to have a talent advantage at most every other position except for goalie.
03-02-2010 , 12:09 AM
Compared to Miller, he may have looked bad. Compared to every other goalie in the olympics, he looked good. Keep in mind it's, it's basically an all-star game they're playing.

Kipper got shelled, Lundquist got beat by Slovakia, Nabokov just lol, etc etc

Also it may be in some people's heads that Robbie Luongo was bad if they watched on NBC. The American slant of the broadcasters was pretty sick but I spose that's to be expected.

Miller let in the softest of the 5 goals, and it was the one that really mattered.....fwiw.

I don't know **** about hockey but that seemed like a pretty amazing perfectly placed quick shot by Crosby into very small hole under Miller's crotch (the 5-hole?). IE - Miller was probably expecting a little bit more of a windup. Hockey people?

I always get the "be careful or you'll lose all your money" line. As if im taking all the money I have and placing it on red lol You can try to explain bankroll management but all you'll get is "you can lose all that as fast as you got it" and the famous "You still don't have a job?" lol at parents understanding poker untill you're on ESPN. I think they just accept me as a degenerate.

LOL, didn't pay attention to what they said about Luongo much but man is Jeremy Roenick a dickhead on the mic or what? Loved it.

JR is a major dickhead like everyday of his life. I was super shocked he restrained himself from claiming USA Hockey blackballed him from Torino or faking an injury to garner extra pay from NBC.

It wasn't that difficult of a shot just caught him off guard. The way he was playing thats an easy save a high % of the time

I always thought roenick was grooming himself for the booth when seeing his interviews as a player and looked forward to them - he had so much more to say than the standard boring hockey interview

For those of you that think you might enjoy it Ill bet tehre are some funny ones on youtube, too busy spanking max and todd @ chinese right now to watch em through to find a good one

I made a photoshop in the olympic hockey discussion thread that im pretty happy with if you guys wanna check it out

Yes, the key to the goal was the fact the puck was only on his stick for a moment. He definitely caught miller off guard.

Miller admitted so him self. He said something like "i'd been playing aggressive all tournament and that's how I was going to play him, he just shot earlier than I expected"....or something to that affect.

btw roenick has one more wsop cash than me. ****ing ***

Seemed to me that late in the 3rd quarter, USA had a close-in shot on goal that was very high percentage, but the player stubbed the stick into the ice. Sort of like chunking a chip shot.

I thought then and there that USA had blown their only chance for a win.

But I know nothing about 'ockey 'ockey 'ockey.

Oy.
03-02-2010 , 02:26 AM
There are no high percentage shots unless the goalie is pulled or is Kipper in the semis.

How depressed was Geno's Mom on facebook after Canada beat Russia? (I may be getting the family member wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was someone related to Malkin.)

Most of my hockey knowledge comes from Sega '93 and '94 (amazingly the two years they discuss in Swingers when they talk about how you can't fight anymore but you can make their heads bleed). I pretty much settled in to Chicago my buddy Detroit. Until recently I was always blown away how many of those dudes were still playing - Roenick, Chelios, Yzerman, Federov, Belfour. For some reason Jimmy Carson was also really good in that game. And if you needed to fight, Steve Smith for Detroit was your man.
