The tournament is organised the following way:
Starting stack: 10K
Blinds: 50/100, 100/200, 150/300, 200/400, 250/500, 300/600
These 6 blind levels last 12 minutes and chip counts will be noted at the end of the above 6 blind level.
After that the above 6 blind levels are played again (Heat A and Heat B and in both cases with 10K starting stack), after that goes further with 20 minutes blinds and 400/800, 500/1000, 600/1200, 800/1600, 1000/2000/a200... Starting stack for these blind levels: everyone gets cumulated what he collected above from Heat A and Heat B (hope it makes sense...). It is not mandatory to play both Heats, however 90% of players did that. Buyin is 15 EUR for each Heat.

We are in Heat A, 2nd blind level:
My hand: 88
My position: UTG
I raise to 600 and get 5 calls (my image is tight) including the blinds.
Pot: 3600
Flop: 987r
SB bets 2500.
Here I made a mistake, I did not realise that BB is still in play and went all-in. I was told my all in is not valid and BB is in play. After some deliberation he calls the 2500. I push (again) all-in.
My stack when the hand started was about 11K, I cover BB, but the SB covers me.

Questions: Anyone disagree with my play? (Ever fold a set? )
Do you consider in your decision how the tournament is organised?
Would you make any adjustment in your strategy in a tournament organised this way (generally not just in this hand)?

Easy ship, definitely the right play. It being 3-way actually helps if someone actually flopped a straight as you have better pot odds to try to boat up.

You could also call and ship your stack in on the turn (assuming it's not a 4th straight card). That'd keep hands like T9 & 86 in play.

As for folding, never ever ever. You're usually good, and the times you are not you will hit a full house 1/3 of the time. There is no way you can ever fold, you cannot possibly be so confident that you're beat for you to fold a set.

you have a set on a board where you have great equity against their ranges and you have less than 2x pot with middle set I just shove it in
