Poker Stars $20+$2 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t50/t100 Blinds - 4 players
2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked

CO: t2400
Hero (BTN): t1440
SB: t4645
BB: t5015

Pre Flop: Hero is BTN with A J
1 fold, Hero raises to t300, 1 fold, BB calls t200

Flop: (t650) K 8 9 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero?

Do you feel comfortable bet folding here? I don't like to bet less than 400 bc it looks more like a standard c-bet and i feel like this is a pretty check-raisy board. Betting 400 only leaves me w/ 740. I've been real tight, can't remember if I have even raised a hand yet, if not only one or two prior to this one. Villain has been loose and has shown that they are willing to dabble. I can bet 300-350 i suppose but obv if i have a made hand there im betting 400 at least and im sure some ppl will know solid tight players will want to bet more than half pot there to protect their hand from draws. If I don't bet though that will obv invite villain to bet any turn.

You are marginally +ev against any range if you want to shove, wiith your chip stack I would elect to shove in order to keep fold equity on the next few orbits.

As played check fold to the river if unimproved.

shove>check>>>>>>>>>>>>b/f ~450

we can get floated or give villain the shot to c/c/shove with a prayer which i've seen a lot lately.

am i a nit for folding this pf?

^^^ im talking preflop
don't know what to do on the flop. i would likely shove or fold pf so i don't get myself into this situation.

i agree on the raise being bad with these people in the blinds. maybe 250 for the steal and checking down without a hand? idk. bad spot. why i'm thinking this is a fold pf.

Not sure really.

I think this is a shove pre-flop. It's fine to shove if you're first in and (you obviously have some fold equity). You're also getting short and when the blinds go to 100/200, you'll only have 7BB.

Once the CO sees you shoving, he starts to feel uncomfortable about his position (unless a seasoned reg) and if you pick up a few chips, he might stack off / push a bit light.

I don't like the 300 pf raise as it leaves you in no-mans land.

at 75/150 this is a definite shove. 50/100 seems really thin.
