Stars 3r.

No real reads on Villain, as he's a fairly recent addition to the table. He is Intellipoker.

I think the flop check is pretty standard, and the turn bet, but what about the river? I have ~1PSB left, do you shove? bet/call? does anyone actually bet/fold?

I wouldn't expect a K to check two streets; so, I would probably bet more on the turn (something like 4000) to give me a more natural shove against any non-diamond river if he calls (which he did).

But as played, I think you made the right river play.

Like others have said, bet slightly more on turn, and in the 3r I shove river and expect to get called by worse.

fwiw i think a bigger turn bet in order to more naturally shove the river is best...

...curious: say we bet 4K, Villain shoves, we have to call getting better than 2:1 and there being two FDs on board?

A c/rai -- especially one that is offering you 2:1 -- is a considerably stronger line from the villain, and I would almost never expect him to do this with a hand that you have beat. I think I could find a (sickening) fold if he did this.

ok, then if you're b/f, might you want to bet less?

Perhaps, but I think the likelihood of a check-raise on this board is much lower than a call. So, I think in the long-run, the extra value we get out of increasing our turn bet outweighs the number of times we lose the extra 1000 to a check-raise.

Against one opponent with a K high flop like this, I bet. But apparently I am alone.

When it's an ace, I check.
