Do we like the preflop iso, the flop cbet and what about the turn shove, i think its okay because AK, KQ and KJ are blocked plus 9x and draws will fold and i have outs if called?

Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 1,225
Hero (BB): 1,465

Pre Flop: (pot: 69) Hero has A J

fold, fold, CO calls 30, fold, fold, Hero raises to 129, CO calls 99

Your bet sizes are too large but I like the line

Honestly I would never bluff with this stack a whale, he's likely to call our turn bet whatever we do. I'd check and hope to spike an ace or a ten. We are committing ourselves in the pot with such a large size on the turn

I can't see what better bluffs we could have here tbh tho Agent. Also I don't see why he always continues when his range should be pretty wide and our range is stronger given pre.

What gives you the idea that villain is a whale? The sample size is 5 hands.

I have a cognitive bias towards small stakes players who limp and call a lot even with ridicolously small sample size

Anyway, CO is probably committed since he has less than 1:1 SPR on the turn.

@OP, did you succeed in this hand?

- Even if he is a whale, there are different breeds of whale, like not all whales would snap call with 9x here

- What do you think the sizing should be, i want to maximize fold equity so figured stack committing bets are best

- Yes agent i was successful

You might be right, but I would be happier to do this play against players I've better reads on.

Happy the plan worked

what hands would call c-bet=3/4 pot? That really depends on the style of V. They can call/raise with TP+ only or they can continue with all types of weak draws like 56.
If Hero plays against the station then it does not make much sense to choose bigger sizings - they will not fold anyways.
If Hero plays against somewhat reasonable, it does not make much sense to choose bigger sizings as well - V will fold all the weak draws, weak 7x, 9x, etc.
I would just c-bet something like 1/3 pot.

So if i chose a smaller sizing on the flop what do you think we should do on the turn, still make an effective all in bet or 50% pot?

Could go 150--->Jam turn too

But generally you want your bets to be consistent typically. So if you bet 1/3 pot on flop you likely don't wanna make a massive turn bet (near pot).
