Hi,

I am sure you have heard this a lot, but it is insane for me now. I am down almost 1k this week but my EV$ is positive.

It seems that i am loosing every hand now, AA or KK never holds up and so on. I know it is variance and maybe it is even normal, but i never had anything like this before. First day it didn't bother me at all and not second day also. But now 7 days in a row is hell. How long could it be? (rhetorical question i believe)

How you cope with it when it comes, you play fewer tables in your sets or take a break for few days, o just don't do anything and keep playing your normal poker which i find hard to do now, at least for me.

Many of you have much longer SNG experience then i am and maybe can give your opinion on this one.

if youre not playing normal poker then youre still tilting from it.
I try to play fewer/shorter games or lesser tables or a lower buy-in. Then end a session with a small profit then quit for that day. The small win breaks my x day losing streak giving me a positive feeling on my next game.

When Im winning I have a "stop loss" rule at 30 average buy-ins(total loss on session/ave buyins, i play multi stakes). Once its reached I stop loading tables and try to minimize loss. Ill rest and then review the games, and I wont play again on that day.

Next time I play Ill have my "stop loss" set to 10 average buyins, and Ill bring it back to 30 once I start running good. And then grind hard for days that I couldnt play too many games.

Take breaks.

Other than that, I think a gym membership is vital for any serious grinder.

7 days isnt much.

In the past Ive been on downswings & totally hated poker over it. Took weeks off, studied, done the other things that have been mentioned.
I get the best results from playing some different games just for fun. Micro PLO 6max is my fav for blowing off steam. (I am nothing like profitable at this. I know that before I sit. The stakes are so low I dont care) 45man turbos, some 180s, A few low buyin donkaments.

Seriously, a couple of sessions/days doing this I usually feel much better. Probably because I have no expectation in those games.

it's a matter of personal preference

some people play less and study more, others grind through it, some switch games for a bit

Focus on making good decisions. If you think you aren't playing optimally, study more and find something to help you relax. Post some hands if you need sanity checks.
