Are you giving up ev when you register late for a tourney? How about a rebuy?
Is it OK to register late, or should you just wait for the next one?

I think you are in NL/PL tournies. A lot of dead money busts out quick early on and you want to be there to get that. Limit, not so much because the average stack size stays the same for a while. So, you could jump in 10-15 minutes late and still be okay. Any later than that and it's not so good.

Definitely bad to do that in rebuys. You want to take as much time as you can to build a giant stack before the R/A period is over.

i lurv late reg in rebuys. the lucky donks who built a big stack during the r/b period are going to lose it all in the first half hour after the add-on anyway...

they are all late registering 10 levels (maybe not the superturbos, but the regular and turbos are all 10 levels), most of which are 12 minute levels, so 2 hrs+ (breaks added)

OT: tonight in a FTP plo mtt i was moved after break (30/60 blinds, level 4) to a table where i was the only person who hadn't late reg'd , they all had starting stacks and 3 were brazilians. this tournament usually gets about 180 players. it was weird imo.

Not only do i late-reg, I pretty much start all my sessions at :55 to cut out as much grinding time as possible.

Def this. Even when I get home in time and fully intend to start a session on the top of the hour, I inevitably think "oh well I'd rather make some food, I'll start after that" or something. And in the end I just push it off until :59 anyways lol
