Last 3 tables of 120 player live tournament. 29 left 27 paid. 500 for each of last 9,and 40,000 total for final table.
M=2 and I have KQo on cutoff. I expect to make the money by doing nothing.
I folded and make the money. Most are folding to a raise btf.
Is this good,bad or horrible from maximizing ev point of view.
A few hands earlier I folded AJs 5 off button.

I normally shove with M <=8 with moderate/decent hands near button but tend to tighten up getting near the money. It gets me ITM a lot but dont know if this is correct with these low stacks.

are u there to win the tourney or are u happy enough to leave with 500.

I would of shoved with AJs and kqo imo

This. And OP. You are probably doing something wrong if your M is that low often near the money. As you said yourself You prolly play too tight and you can't win donkaments if u are just folding in the money.

And try figure why my M gets this low. I think because I need to get more laggy in middle stages.
