KJo in SB 14 left KJo in SB 14 left

01-22-2020 , 04:49 PM
700 registrations in total
We are 10/14
25BB
7 handed table
We limp KJo in SB with 25BB
BB makes it 3.5x
BB is a reg has 46BB
Our read on him is that he is a station.
What would be the best option here?
How would a shove do v/s a call and playing a pot post flop?
Or is jamming better in the 1st place.

Thanks.

I think this works well as a limp/jam. You block a fair amount of villain's stronger hands that might call.

I don't really like open shoving for 25bb but at the same time, it will likely be a slight +Cev play.

limp/jam or limp/call are both fine. If we had less than 20bbs I am removing a lot of limp/calls

l/j is fine. If you feel really confident you will play better post l/c is possibly better but that's dicey.

I would not open jam.

Whats wrong with just open raising?

I think open raising is best. I think you have too many BB to limp/Jam.
I would be more like to call his bet and play a hand.

Think going 3x is better than limp/jam or limp/call. Wouldn’t be against just ripping 25bbs here as it’s +ev shove bvb. Maybe not ideal but nothing that wrong with it. Think I would go limp/call as played. Don’t think you are getting light calls from a limp/shove here.

Why are you limping KJ in the SB if you don't know how you're going to respond to a raise?

How are you going to respond to a 3-bet if you raise? Are you calling or folding if you raise and BB shoves?

Yep, this. He'll really dislike calling 60% of a 45BB stack with 44-77 type hands and weak Ax etc. not to mention there are some Kx hands

I wasn't necessarily arguing that raising is better than limping, my point is that in a spot like this you should already know how you're going to respond to a raise if you decide to limp.

Thanks for advise.

This spot has been solved.

Please, no more simple BvB spots.
