Hi everyone!

Some of you may be surprised to see me here as I'm moderately well-known as a contributing writer at P5s (and possibly better known as one of the subjects of Bond18's witty sketches), but as my main occupation is NLHE MTTs I've been feeling for a while now that I should join this community.

I'm sure some of you will tell me to gtfo or similar as I'm well aware of some of the animosity between P5ers and 2+2ers, but hopefully I can contribute to this community and get cut a little slack as time goes by.

For my first contribution I've been putting together a schedule for my trip to the Bahamas in January. As you all know the PCA is being held at Atlantis 4-11 Jan, but some of you may not be aware that there is another poker festival being held just a few miles away at Cable Beach Resorts from 7-19 Jan organised by World Poker Showdown (WPS).

My trip is covering both festivals and now that I've got all the schedule info from Pokerstars and WPS I put together an itinerary for my buy-in budget of $10k. The schedule below shows all the PCA and WPS NLHE events (except for the PCA Main Event) and highlights in RED those that I plan to play on my budget. Obviously this can change if, for example, I win a PCA Main Event seat.

Hopefully this is useful information and some of you will join me both at PCA and WPS.

Cheers,

Stu

I think a lot of people have misconceptions about 2p2 and P5's. People at P5's seem to think that there is a HUGE rivalry over on the 2p2 side. I disagree, I don't think there is a rivalry at all. We are all simply poker players trying to improve. Information on 2p2 is available to people who visit pocket fives, and IMO the people that avoid the information on 2p2 because they are a "P5's person at heart" is just ******ed. As well as the other way around, there is SOME valuable information over on P5's. So I think that they should just coexist peacefully without all the hate etc.

Oh well, good to see you here, I enjoy reading your posts.

Welcome. I watched a few of your videos on Cardrunners a few months back and noticed a big improvement in my game immediately afterwards. So, thanks.

The WPS schedule can be found here:

http://www.worldpokershowdown.com/bahamas-index.html

The PCA side events schedule was sent to me as as part of .pdf file brochure of the whole PCA info package. It's not on the website, but you can get in upon request from pca@pokerstars.com

welcome to 2+2 stu. if you are here for the same reason as me (banned from p5's) you might get some of that old p5's feel by reading NVG and BBV.

I imagine the structure for a 250 that starts at 8 pm would be piss poor, no?

In any case, welcome to 2+2, have a great trip in Jan.

yeah, those $250's are just the nightly bounty tournys when there's nothing else to play that day and will defo be turbos. the wps tournys that start earlier each day are announced as "deep stack" and each has a planned Day 2.

as such i see this series as being structured very similar to the venetian where they have their deep stack tournys kicking off at midday running in Day 2s and then they run a nightly bounty tourny with a turbo structure.

i'll be playing it by ear regarding the nightly bounty tournys. if they really suck, i'll just play some online stuff on quiet days.

I found this review of The Atlantis on yahoo travel. Hope it is helpful.

SO I AM FOURTEEN AND THIS REVEIW IS FOR THE PARENTS WHO WANT TO BRING THEIR KIDS ON A VACATION. THIS WAS A REALLY FUN HOTEL. THERE WAS SO MUCH TO DO IN THE HOTEL. THE WATERSLIDES WERE REALLY FUN. THEY ARE THE BEST I HAVE EVER BEEN ON AND I HAVE BEEN ON MANY. ONE GOES THROUGH A SHARK TANK AND ANOTHER LANDS IN A UNDERGROUND CAVE WITH A HUGE AQUARIUM AND WATERFALL. THE RESTAURANTS WERE GOOD, BUT REALLY EXPENSIVE. I HAVE THREE SIBLINGS, SO THE FOOD REALLY ADDED UP. THE WHOLE TRIP, NOT INCLUDING AIRFARE WAS ABOUT 15,000 FOR 9 NIGHTS. THAT IS A LOT. YOU SHOULD REALLY CONSIDER DOING THE DOLPHIN ENCOUNTER. THAT WAS ONE OF THE FUNNEST THINGS I HAVE EVER DONE!!! I DO NOT RECCOMEND PARASAILING. ALTHOUGH IT WAS FUN, YOU WENT UP FOR ABOUT 45 SECONDS AND YOU DID NOT GO VERY HIGH. SCUBA DIVING IS MUCH BETTER. THERE ARE AMAZING FISH. YES I HAD A GREAT TIME, BUT I WOULD PREFER TO GO TO A REALLY EXOTIC INTERESTING PLACE. THIS WAS REALLY A LOT LIKE A WATER PARK ON A BEAUTIFUL BEACH. SOMETHING THAT HAS SOME CULTURE AND REAL NATURE WOULD BE A LOT MORE EXCITING. I RECCOMMEND PANAMA OR MALAYSIA. THOSE ARE REALLY AMAZING EXOTIC DESTINATIONS. SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HOTEL THAT HAS TONS OF THINGS TO DO AND YOU ARE PREPARED FOR SPENDING A TON OF MONEY, GO TO ATLANTIS.

Do any of you guys know of the types of side cash games that go on? Is it mostly just NLHE or are there PLO cash games as well? Also, what limits are usually played during the week of these tournaments at Atlantis, etc. ???

Last year they had 1/2 nl, 2/4 nl, 5/10 nl, 10/20 nl, 25/50 nl, and 50/100/200 nl.

the 10/20 games were sick good, the 25/50 was kinda tough, and as usual the biggest game in the room was at times the best.

PLO the highest i saw was 25/50... i played a bit of 5/10 while on the 25/50 list and the game seemed really good, though it could have been good because I was playing an im a plo fish.
