Hi guys,
I often hear there are spots when its ok to fold AA/KK, bc icm purposes, however isnt it contradicting with the fact that the money is concentrated in the top spots, and you want to win? Ok maybe icm is not so important in micro tours but even if thsts the case someone can explain it, anyway?
And how can you use Icm in live tournaments? Maybe you just need to consider somewhat worse odds than you offered at a situation?

Well the only time I'd fold it is if I had a lock on a satellite seat otherwise I don't think I'd fold it unless there were extreme icm circumstances where I had position and I knew players were all in and I was significantly short and/or there was a huge pay jump.

there are other situations, but they are rare. say, for instance, you're the short stack in the ME FT, and you have AA on the BB. it's still 9 handed and UTG shoves and gets 3 calls. 3 of them have similar stacks and the other one is the big stack.

there is a very real possibility that at least 2 players will go broke in this hand. the pay raise from those 2 spots alone is close to a million dollars and you know AA will only win like 30% of the time or so against 4 other hands. this seems like a clear spot where it pays very well to fold the AA.

but just looking at how extreme this scenario is should tell you you shouldn't be thinking about folding AA or KK PF pretty much ever.
