Open shove pre-flop. If you raise less than all in and are reraised, you're committed to the pot anyway.

not a fan of open shoving 14bbs utg as advocated. I like a raise of more like 5000 at this blind level though. When you get reraised by the chip leader in this spot, it's a reraise or fold situation, and I don't think I could make myself fold there. You're flipping against his range for sure and just have to take your lumps with your stack size.
I would 4bet shove this back at the guy.

What if you get one caller, maybe two? You will be OOP throughout the hand and you're not gonna like most of the flops you see. Keep it simple and get it in.

You bet about 5k. Open shoving is kinda dumb with 14bb UTG, you'd really only get called by things that are greater or flipping with you. If someone re-raises, I like pushing. If you just call a minraise pre, then you're going all in on the flop anyways, so just get it in pre.

open raising all-in is your best play. your stack is short enough to where you benefit plenty just by picking up the blinds and antes, not to mention the times you get called by 77-88 and a bunch of hands you're flipping against.

i'm shipping in with any pair and many aces; often you pick up a little extra fold equity from shoving UTG, and your stack is still large enough to do real damage to anyone thinking about calling.

U should be shipping really really light. i would prbly be shipping top 25% of hands in your spot, due to the fact that you drastically need a double up, and at least need to steal those blinds. The blinds are significant, and you can't afford to let your 'M' linger below 10. So, 99 is an insta shove.

No. Do not use HoH for shove strategy. Shoving top 25% of hands is super spewy.

But this is definitely a shove. It really doesn't matter if villains call perfectly against you, this is still a +EV shove (I think, I'd have to do math to be sure, and math is for nerds. Anyway villains won't call you perfectly, they'll also call w/ hands like AK, which makes this a super easy shove).

Perhaps 25% is too rough of a generaliztion. I really feel like you should be pushing generally all above average hands, maybe not 25%, but a lot that have showdown equity in this spot. Flame away, but i honestly will often open shove 89s 109s, and depending on the play of the table, worse. I think you are under valuing the amount of chips in the pot far too much, and giving your opponents too much credit to wake up with a hand.

Dont just always look at the BB's hero has. Regarding hero's stack blinds with 1k/2k
and an ante of 200 (3.2k) our stack is < an M of 10. So pls shove this in !

I did not look up results (thx for "spoilering"), but even if we would give some credit
to the BTN - knowing hero's getting desperate, and therefore should be calling
quite "light", means your actual hand is far ahead of his calling range in this case.

Were you going to call if villain had rrai? If yes, why not be the first one in?

It's difficult with the history of the villian. You must shove to his 3 bet pre.
Me, I'm open shoving here.
