I don't like raising garbage to steal blinds at this stack size. You have a stack you can resteal with, but you lose your FE if you lose just a few BBs more in chips. Also, if the blinds go up before you find a good spot, you still have a nice pushbotting stack for the next level, but any chips you lose severely impact your pushing FE. So, right now every chip you have is precious and trying a LP blind steal is not worth it unless they're really weak/tight, which obviously isn't the case as you got called by 54s. I also don't like trying to get someone to fold anything in this spot. I mean his most likely hand is Ax, and he's never ever folding it. You tried to steal, you got caught, just give up and start pushbotting your 10 BB stack.

fold pre-flop. Your stack is very awkward for opening hands that you have to play post-flop. Your stack is a good-reshove stack. Play it as such.

As played, check turn and you could make a tough river decision when he bets into you on a non-diamond river. If he checks a fourth diamond, you can turn your hand into a bluff and shove.

Fold preflop.

a) You're not on the bubble yet.
b) Your stack isn't healthy enough to spew chips like this.

Having raised

a) I like your raise amount
b) I'd probably check behind the flop, but bet the turn if checked to again
(obviously fold if he bets it)

Edit: I was thinking about it, and I did want to tell you that I like your courage on this hand. However you did break the cardinal rule of bluffing: Always leave yourself outs. Which if he has a flush - you don't.

Min prf min raise is horrid.

The flop bet is too big.

You're beat on the turn but betting anyway.

The river you find out your effed.

This whole mess could have been avoided if you either fold prf or raise to 900 (or even shoved) and actually steal the blinds.

I think you'd be surprised how few hands people would fold to 900 but call to 625.

Ok we tried to steal a blind, and c-bet. Cool. Gotta do that ATC sometimes.

But - there is absolutely NOTHING he calls the flop with that he's not playing all the way on the turn.

Give up when he calls the flop, or - check behind and try and bluff the river. If he called with just one diamond, he might fold a river if no diamond. He will never fold the turn.

edit: also like to add that I HATE the pf raise size. If your minimum raise is 2.5X, you will always be giving yourself the right odds - pf raise size: 750-1000

2.5x'ing has so many more advantages than disadvantages at this stage.

I know I just keep quoting people to point this out, but I'll try to stop after this.

I've actually been wondering about this alot lately. I will call very light to min raises in my BB (maybe leakish). I think in this case they fold to a 3x more often since it's a big chunk compared to their stack but if the blinds were half the size I would agree. Is that a fair assumption?

I would like to hear more on this actually...
