What are some cool or helpful advice that you learned from life that you want to share with the world? Name only three please.

Here is my three.

Read the freaking instructions. I wasted so much time and energy by not not reading them. It would of made my life a whole lot easier.

Don't treat girls any different from your buddies unless you are doing them or they are your girl friends. You should treat the girls the same as your buddies, why should they get special treatment? Girls are people too =0.

Always wear clean underwear;you will never know when you will get in an accident and they have to cut your pants open.

i ignore all of the above, with no adverse effect. as for mine, I'm sure there is one or two somewhere in the thread. don't feel like retyping.

To paraphrase irie, eventually everyone will run worse at life than they ever thought possible. How you respond will define you as a person far more than the good runs will.

Treat people with respect and compassion. There's no real good reason to do otherwise.

Call your parents.

This is so standard in Australia that country trains have speed limits of the equivalent of 35mph in summer.

The huge shopping centre that I now live next to has an advertising catch line, "What's what?"

Everytime I see that advert I think of that song.

On a separate note, if you ever want to get internet services in Australia connected in a timely manner, do not use Optus. I have now been told on 7 or 8 (I **** you not) occasions that my service will be connected and working "tomorrow" or "in a couple of hours."

6 weeks after I first ordered the connection, and still nothing.

Finally forced myself to try cascading on a laptop for a couple days straight. It's the shiz-nit, and much easier on the eyes, though I have to improve at keeping track of reads still. I'm thinking it might help me play ~ 50% more tables on my desktop at or near the same level of proficiency.

My hourly rate went up at least 50% when I started cascading. Don't tell everyone though

Ok, so I went overboard yesterday. First time ever, I bought way too much beer for the fridge. Had a home game last night and I wanted to be well stocked, but this is what was left after the game, despite a valiant effort by Irieguy, Cleinen, Velocity, myself and to a lesser extent Yugo & Onyyn (lesser because they had to drive home):

This was previously billed as the toughest live $50 sng in history, but people like wuwei, scuba chuck, bluefeet, jgunnip and greek house couldn't attend for various reasons, so I had to invite a few non 2+2ers to fill the table. We settled for the toughest live $50 sng in Minnesota history.

The game was a lot of fun. We played deep stacked and allowed rebuys if you busted before the 5th level. Yugo & Cleinen both rebought. Irie made a nice attempt at busting (so he could rebuy) on the last hand before the rebuy period ended, shoving without looking at his hole cards over Onyyn's open raise, but he doubled up.

In the end, Onyyn (luckbox) won, Yugo came back after rebuying to take second and I took third (rigged).

The non 2+2ers and Onyyn left after the tourney and the rest of us played some mixed games. Taking the seat with Irieguy on your left makes for difficult decisions. I dont recommend it. That was the toughest cash game I ever played in, and somehow luckboxed my way to being slightly above break even. My memory is somewhat fuzzy from all the beer so I cant remember any interesting hands in detail, but I do remember scooping about a $250 pot in PLO8 with 3rd nut high and something like 3rd nut low, when I shoved (after tanking because I dont know wtf I'm doing in PLO 8 ) over Velocity's minraise of Irie's open river bet. Irie called, Velocity folded and somehow my hand was good.

I think everyone had a good time, I know I did. Props to Cleinen & Velocity who drove all the way to the Twin Cities from Fargo & Iowa City respectively and Irieguy who came all the way from Vegas (he was in town for a conference). Every time I meet more STTFers they turn out to be cool people and last night was no exception.

FWIW I reshoved that river which made Velocity fold the best low cuz we were both pretty deep. I thought I was promoting both of my mediocre hands but oops.

Fortunately I won it all back flipping vs. Cleinen once again demonstrating that the only thing that really matters in life is how you run flipping.

Thanks for the hospitality, Cha, it was a fun game. 2+2 home games are always the nuts and have actually been worth the trips to San Fran, LA, and Minneapolis to play in them.

Cha was a wonderful host and the STTF gathering did not disappoint. Definitely worth the 4 hour drive each way even though I'm a donkey making hero folds and bad bluffs.

This is a life-lesson that I apparently have to re-learn every once in a while - but life's too short to get mad at poker. You do need to chill!
