1. Is this possible/recommended (compared to MTTSNGs) ?

2. What size BR should I use not to go busto ?

Anything is possible. Turbos 6 max I would. 1.50 to win 5 bucks I'd say need to win 2/3 consistently at the least

Thanks, though "anything is possible" was not the kind of answer I was looking for I meant like, is it the same trying to grind a roll with MTTSNG's then with STTSNG's, or does one have an edge? I was thinking STTs would show results more quickly since there's so much less variance. I'm mostly comparing turbo MTT's and reg speed STT's.

obviously in stt you will be itm much more often, so need a lower br then mtt. still 50 bi minimum for normal imo.

I started at $1.50 level 6max before Xmas and ran up about $160 in profit before moving to $3.50's. So yeah it is possible if you learn how to handle limp fish.

My advice is to pick a game type and stick to it. Become an expert. That is your roll right there. Try not to flit between game types until you are competent.

Reg speed 9 mans will definately be lower variance than turbo MTTs due to the slower structure allowing you to make more good decisions per tournament and also the higher percentage of players that cash in a given tournament.

OP please see the FAQ at the top of this forum, in particular points 3 & 6 that deal with bankroll and variance. There are also some excellent threads on variance in the stickies near that top of the forum.

Basically in the end it comes down to how much it will hurt you if you do go broke. Good luck.
