not sure how much the guy was opening but the K8 reship seems ok if he was any kind of aggro. the QJ, i feel like if you gonna barrel, just put him in on the turn, because i think you'll get looked up pretty light by checking back turn and shipping river.

gg though

The opener was 25/20 over a decent sample... def pretty loose, and due to positions I hadn't 3-bet or shipped him yet until this point since he was on my left until more people busted.

The QJ I didn't really wanna bet that turn since I felt he was calling with most of his flop calling range anyways. When he checked again on river I thought his range isn't super strong since he didn't choose to bet and he check-raises some % of his top pairs on the flop... and that turn/river together changed the board a fair bit and brought straights/2-pair/sets and stuff... thought he might have a tough time with 1 pair hands, and prob have to fold JJ/TT type hands, but apparently not cuz he snapped me off. But yea the turn isn't much of a scare card so I didn't feel like barreling it and I had outs to the nuts.

I want to start off by saying I totally respect your play. Making it this far is an accomplishment all it's own.

Now I maybe a newbie in this community but I have played for quite some time. My personal thoughts on both these hands... (That I must say I am guilty of in both cases)

I think the JQ you kind of got caught speeding. When he called the flop bet i think it should have thrown up a stop sign that he wasn't going to let it go. You made the only move you could on the river to win. Me personally I would of gave up after the flop call. but again I didn't make the FT you did. (I am guilty of this one heads up on BoDog 3 years ago heads up for a WSOP seat... did not bode well)

As for the K8 reship... I think it's a good hand to bluff with as you did. Thats kind of my standard, play back at a blind stealer hand... bc imo if you get called it's better than average. unfortunately he had a hand.

I'm just as guilty but sometimes luckier

Thanks for the reply nclined. Yea, I probably should've gave up on the river, I just felt like when he call/check/checks, his range is rarely better than 1 pair, and I could get him to fold some 1 pairs. I don't think I get him to fold often enough though, cuz my line isn't that strong, and I probably need him to fold some Ks to make it a profitable bluff. I maybe should've shoved turn since it represents a bigger hand, and I have some outs going into the river still.
