I want to start off by saying I totally respect your play. Making it this far is an accomplishment all it's own.
Now I maybe a newbie in this community but I have played for quite some time. My personal thoughts on both these hands... (That I must say I am guilty of in both cases)
I think the JQ you kind of got caught speeding. When he called the flop bet i think it should have thrown up a stop sign that he wasn't going to let it go. You made the only move you could on the river to win. Me personally I would of gave up after the flop call. but again I didn't make the FT you did. (I am guilty of this one heads up on BoDog 3 years ago heads up for a WSOP seat... did not bode well)
As for the K8 reship... I think it's a good hand to bluff with as you did. Thats kind of my standard, play back at a blind stealer hand... bc imo if you get called it's better than average. unfortunately he had a hand.
I'm just as guilty but sometimes luckier
