Final 3 of a freeroll, 1st pays: $190, 2nd: $135, 3rd: $99.

BTN likes to play his big hands slow. Is now a good time to take a stand with 33 considering my low stack, knowing that I'm probably at best 50/50 or should I wait a bit and try to pick a better spot to get my chips in?

Thanks

I would stop and go.

I recently posted a very similar situation (except it was in the final 22). Button raises, and you know that he is pretty much not folding to your re-raise -- doing so would be a huge mistake on his part that most people won't do. So, force him into making a mistake -- do the stop and go. Just call pre, then move all in on any and all flops. You have a much greater chance of making him fold that way, or making him call you on the flop when he is way behind. You have to go all-in here anyway, so you may as well give it a shot.

This way you are making him make mistakes everywhere. He should of just open raised all-in pre and you are punishing him for it. On the flop if he calls your all-in after whiffing the flop, with his KJ or whatever, he makes a huge mistake. Doing this only allows him to see three cards instead of five, which really hurts hands that aren't made. Take advantage of having a made hand and put him on the defensive.

Stop N go sucks, just shove pre as you did.

It's def time to take a stand. Depending on villain, shoving pre or doing a stop n go is fine in my opinion but you have to go w/ this hand imo.

Our stack is nice for a stop n go but I would just shove.

it looks like he's getting better than 2 to 1 on a call if you shove PF, I doubt you have much FE. I'd probably go for a stop and go

It's interesting you guys bring up the stop n go, cause right after the hand I wondered if I should have did that instead. However, I wasn't sure if I had enough chips to get him to fold after the flop. The pot would have been ~128,000 and I would be shoving 57,000 while he still has 187,000 in chips. In hindsight theres probably a decent chance he folds if he has nothing.

In actuality the Villain had 88. I felt I may have made a mistake after the hand. While shoving I was expecting a race with very little chance he folds given my stack size. Given this at best I was 50/50 with such a low pair.

So I guess folding the pair isn't a viable move considering my small stack? And the optimal move is either shove or stop n go?

Thanks for everyone's input.

with 10BB 3 handed I'm usually gonna get all in w/ a small pocket pair. As for FE, whether you ship PF or OTF you are giving him the same odds, might as well give him a chance to miss the flop and increase your FE. If the flop is a little uglier you might get him to lay down a bigger PP, and if he had a KT type hand there's a decent chance his hand hits the muck

Why do we want KT to fold on a flop that it misses? Which is why I think the stop n go sucks.

We can get low overpairs to fold on a lot of flops. Also villain will miss everything on the flop 2/3 of the time.. if he calls and sees all five cards he'll hit something half the time. Stop n go does win the hand a higher percentage of the time.
