Hi, first ever post on here. Just wanted to see how it works. Think this is a pretty straightforward spot to call the jam? But looking at opponents stats, seems quite tight (small population only):

Opponent is VPIP13/PFR12 (13 hands only).

Any advice on this spot and on how to post on here and how to select hands that can be meaningful for improving my game.

Thanks all.

How far from the money bubble were you? As a general rule I'm never really happy to call a jam with AJ, I'd prefer being the one who pulls the trigger with such a hand because of the fold equity. But if someone jams best case scenario you're flipping, worst case scenario you're a 30% underdog.
But I'm quite a conservative player when it comes to call shoves, so my opinion might be worth only to a certain extent

Thanks for the reply.
We were relatively deep in the money but the pay jumps still pretty small.
I guess i thought my hand does well vs his shoving range, but probably never that well unless i can be sure he is a maniac (which I couldnt in thise case) so guess I can probably wait for a better spot.
You say flipping at best but would you say he couldn't be shoving A9/10/5 suited here for 13bbs? Guess this comes down to what range we put him on.

I agree with @TheAgent77. I'm on the tight side of poker and AJo is a hand that I mostly like to push than to defend. Even if it's hard to have a read on the vilain, there are situations where you have to fold good hands. Without a good read on the vilain I fold.

Don't post results, it affects the way people assess the hand.

It is notable that villain is open shoving almost 20bb. Players usually do this with hands they don't want to play postflop if they make a standard raise and get called. So you will often see hands like AK/AQ and middle pairs. You don't stack up well against that range. Not worth it for 18bb effective.
