Hey guys this is a hand I played abt a week ago

Tournaments just started, blinds at 50/100

Starting stack: 15k

Villain is an aggro good tourney reg, whom I have some history with. (He is capable of calling with 9 highs on j 53 boards I once showed up with 76 .. turn and riv went check check)

9 handed, 4 folds.

First hand dealt!

Hero is MP+1 with A 5
Raise to 325
CO (villain) calls, sb and bb calls.

Flop(1300): A J 10

Hero bets 650, only CO calls.

Turn(2600): 5

Hero takes about 15 seconds whether to bet or not, and checks. V bets 3k casually.

Hero calls 3k

River(8600) 8 (might have been a club but definitely black)

I don't know if it's correct but i much prefer the line of just bet/folding turn here instead of checking. I am usually betting ~1/2psb on turn and folding to a raise.

Turn is a hard spot after checking and Villian betting 3k into 2.6k... I guess call but I don't feel great about it.

Given how it's played, definitely just folding river.

What do you guys think about checking flop?

with value hands on high board textures, if you can't bet for value 3 times, then probably start with a check.
