Or is this too thin because of his stack? BB has been sitting out for the past round. BTN is 12/8 over a really small sample.

very similar to ssnyc's shove question A8o sept his BTN 4BB and you got 2BB, I like this shove over the other, for the sole reason that we won't be dominated and we are almost certain live if called...The real question is what are they both trying to say with the 4BB and the 2BB???

Similar except the BB is sitting out and the BTN is betting the absolute minimum.

this hand and ssnyc's r not even close to being similar. if the play in a 22 is the same as a 2$ i like the shove, btn is folding alot, and when they do call u likely got 30-35% equity.

I can't count on the BB to not wake up, but regardless, my thinking between the two is, is the 2BB strong and feigning weakness, and is the 4BB weak and feigning strength.

BB isn't a factor he's sitting out...

so if he makes this 600 or even 800 you still shove? 400 is already 1/6th his stack! is his min raise a statement that his does not want to commit himself?

That's why I'm asking how much FE we have. Minraises on the BTN seem like they're weaker rather than stronger. Like Protential said, if he's folding a lot, even if we're called we're rarely dominated and have >30% equity vs. any standard calling range.

but to the same respect he could be begging for a shove or call I mean why is he not just open shoving?

no.. 4bb open is usually the top of a given range for a player from nearly any position in blind levels 4+ with shallow stacks. a min raise from lp is nearly always the middle of their range (5%ish they got a hand like AJ+ 1010+).

This is what I'm thinking, looks like a spot where most weaker hands will just shove....looks like he wants action here but I'm still probably shoving here all day with a very live hand.
