I'm on the button w/AQo. 5 limpers. I tank for about 30 seconds and shove. SB (Villian) calls w/JJ. SB was chip leader at the table and was tightening up. He wasn't doing a lot of bullying. He wanted to get to day 2.
1st question: Did i give away too much by tanking? If i snap ship does he put me on a hand stronger than 2 overs or is that wishful thinking? I'm not sure I see any way he folds, but I think by my taking a while to make a decision I think I basically told him the kind of hand I had.
2nd question: Did i play this like a total ******? I'm mostly a limit player.
Make it 6000 to make your hand look stronger. Also obv snap if he does the stop and go on you.
If I only make it 6000 that's about 1/2 my stack. He's obviously aware that I'll take it all the way. I can see maybe moving him off if the board comes dry (no A, Q, or K)? (Which is by the way how it came out. For good measure he spiked a J in the door.) But he's probably going to put in a huge raise pf with all that money in the pot already. I don't think I can limp shove at that point.
Are you the short stack at the table? If not, I would just limp in since there are already many limpers, someone may have a hand and they will call you anyway with low pairs or whatever since there are already over 5000 in the pot giving them enough odds to call. Since you are the button, you get to see what others are doing after the flop.

I was a little below "table" average but with only 13 bb left (minus antes) I didn't really think if I limped with that many other people in the pot that I could ever take it away unless I got a perfect flop.
Also, if I limp what's my play if JJ shoves pf? It looks like a steal from the big-stack and I'm still in the same position. Not enough $$$ to make it difficult for him to call.
Is there any value though in a "snap shove" instead of taking your time? I wasn't tanking for any meta game reasons I was really trying to put everything together and think through my options (which I really see is only 1).
this is totally standard and i really dont think your tanking is going to affect villian's decision all that much. you can't do anything but shove here with 14 BBs and so many limpers
