Can't really disagree with this after my experiences there last year even though it was the softest 5K+ buyin to be run since Moneymaker won the WSOP until the end of time. Although, "Beau Travail" is an excellent film involving the French in Africa.

I think the idea of 100 MTT'ers on 2+2 that are interested putting up $2500each and holding a private event on Stars with the winner getting to play in the Monte Carlo event and getting a 25% share and those who bought in getting .75(75%)each or something like that.

Cool idea guys, I will be following this thread.

I could contact Stars and see if they would help facilitate it and how much rake they would charge. I think we would have to incorporate a little extra into the initial buy-in to cover most of the travel and hotel costs for the the winner of the event as well. If enough HSMTT'ers would be interested, I'd be happy to run with it (I wouldn't play FWIW). Just not sure how we would enforce that the player who won the $250K freezeout would use the money to buy into the Monte Carlo event and not just keep the quarter mil. Maybe if the winner wore a Stars patch at the event(asuming they weren't already sponsored), then Stars would buy the winner directly into the event rather than depositing the money into their account.

I'll wait to see what interest there is in this and if there is enough, approach Stars at that point.
