Someone posted deeb and djk's graphs a little while back somewhere, is there any easy way to do this with excel/open office?

I have done this for a friend. It was kinda a b**ch.

I just dragged over all the data and copy pasted to a spreadsheet.
Next, you have to delete all the cells you don't need. This can be tricky, some of the pics refuse to go away for reasons I don't understand. Then you have to use the find/replace tool to change things around a little. ( "-" changed to "0" and every number has a couple spaces ahead of it so you have to get rid of those too so that excel recognizes is chartable data.

In the end, I ended up with data in every other row, so the chart is twice as long as it should be, making it appear flatter than it should be.

Also worth noting is that rebuys are only calculated as single buyins.

If you PM me with some raw data in an excel spreadsheet, I would be willing to turn it into a chart for some reasonable compensation on PS.

I did it once from OPR and had a similar experience to nate...i feel like the data i imported was slightly less screwed up than that though (e.g. i didn't have data in every other row). To deal with rebuys, they were formatted as $109+, so I replaced "+" with "*4" (or whatever factor you want) and "$" as "=". I'm pretty sure there has to be a better way though.

heres the problem; when i enter it into excel, it comes up backwards. so the graph is backwards.

right, I forgot...there are spaces at the start of the dates. So you need to find/replace " 0" with "0", " 1" with "1" etc. in that column. Then you can resort the data by date. edit: not sure how many spaces there are, just copy/paste from a cell in the date column

I do the graphs using a program called Stata. I cut/paste the OPR output into a text file. It would be doable in Excel, too, but substantially harder, I think. (And I'm pretty slick with Excel). Dealing with rebuys isn't trivial. I think my way does the best job possible given the data that OPR provides.

I can't do complete history for high-volume players because OPR won't show all the tournaments. It only shows the last 3000, I think.

There are some free tracking pages around. One of them allows to import data from an excel sheet (csv to be precise). About one year ago, I wrote a little script that converts OPR data into the form needed for the import.

You not only get a single graph showing your overall return, but numerous different graphs, various filter options, statistical data etc.

The only drawback is that duplicate tourneys (same day, same-buy-in, same number of runners, same placement) do not get imported and have to be added manually (or not at all).

And no, it's not my page I'm talking about. I'm just using it to track my own progress...
