lol guns are prohibited in public in most states.. casinos to say the least. you can get licenses tho where you can conceal and carry weapons as part of a self and family protection act in selected states.

OP, you are correct to think about it, but you shouldn't need a bunch of MTTc knuckleheads to tell you what to do.

1.wear very dirty clothes
2.don't ever cut your hair, shave, or bathe
3.pour rum on clothes before leaving casino( you could drink it, or lots of hard booze)
4.mumble incoherantly.

instead of getting mugged, you might actually make a couplebux on your way home.

It is legal to carry a concealed weapon into a casino in Nevada (and 20 something other states afaik) provided you have a permit. The catch is that businesses can ask that you not carry on their property. You're not breaking any laws, but they can ask you to leave. If your gun is concealed they'll probably never know you have it imo...

A handgun ain't doing you a bit of good if you get jumped by two dudes you didn't even see coming, which is how it's probably going to go down. If you try to pull it out when the're mugging you you'll end up srsly wounded or dead instead of bruised. I don't care if you graduated at teh top of Vanilla Ice Concealed Handgun Class, it won't help in a mugging. Well, that's a lie, the handful of times it does help will be offset by teh handful of times you die.

Gawd, I hope not and I find that hard to believe.

If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

I have a 5.7 just like that as well as a few other toys =) That 5.7 is my favorite in my entire arsenal though even though I have a few cool "bigger" toys =)

Good God, this is the best post by far on the topic. I just thought there would be some ideas here. How misguided was I?

I have a Nevada CCW.

Only one time it came up, walked into a bar where they were searching the thugs in Laughlin, asked me to lift my shirt, I presented my CCW, I went through some secret doorway with security guards, and super cool like, as in they didn't give a ****, just had me clear it and give it to them, and they put it in a safe, and I was told I could retrieve it 24 hrs but it was just their policy to not have them on the floor.

Also, if there's a sign on the door that says "No Guns", has to be clearly visible, then I'm breaking the law carrying on the premises regardless of permit.

Also, is carrying a concealed weapon going to deter people from attacking you? It would seem that you would prefer the weapon to be unconcealed. Is there a brandishing permit?

This varies from state to state, with the vast majority of states requiring the firearm be concealed at all times unless you are using it to defend life/property. A few states require the firearm to be exposed at all times, like the old west. There are schools of thought on both sides of the argument, like deterrence as you mentioned.

From Wikipedia,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concealed_carry

Quote:
Wisconsin allows for open carry in most situations, while Illinois only allows it in rural areas subject to county restriction
So it looks like you can only Wyatt Earp your firearm in Wisconsin or certain parts of Illinois.
