Calling Off Rannge for Triple Up SNG on Money Bubble? Calling Off Rannge for Triple Up SNG on Money Bubble?

Hi all, I had a question about what my calling off range should be on the money bubble in a $25 Triple Up on Ignition, with four players remaining and the final three players each getting $75. (Note: I understand this is probably something to run in ICMIZER or another program, but I am working off a Mac and am not aware of any compatible software.)

If it is not clear from the photo, Hero is in the big blind with AQo with 10bbs behind and faces an 8.5bb shove from villain on the button. The two other stacks each have about 20 bbs and are playing passively. I folded in this spot but wanted to know what my call off range should look like. I did not have a HUD running so I do not have any stats on the player but can say they were playing an aggressive style.

ICMIZER probably says FOLD JJ in this spot AQ might be a call because ICMIZER likes having an Ace vs vilians shoving range.

My guess is ICMizer calls AK and QQ+. MAYBE JJ and AQs

WAAAY off

Turns out we call quite wide here. I dont really understand why but ICMizer is calling top 10%. A7s+, A9o+, 66+,KQs

It gets even wider when you increase the FGS

YOu're telling me ICMIZER is telling you to call with that range you just posted ledn? I cannot believe that..

I couldnt really believe it either tbh, I thought I messed something up setting it up. I created a custom tourney where top 3 got the same prize and there were 4 left with those stack sizes, looking at $EV, not chip EV

The two 20bb stacks have a huge bubble factor and are basically incentivized to fold into the money, and the shortstacks have relatively wide ranges. It had btn shoving like 35%.

I would like someone else to run this spot and verify what I got, cause I dont understand why we are so wide here at all.

Maybe thats why in your example the sb calls so tight. The big stack on the button actually has a tight shoving range, since he just wants to fold into the money.

Doesn't really have much to do with shoving ranges. The explanation is pretty simple.

You have very little incentive to stack off vs. a stack that significantly covers you than you do vs. someone similar in chips to you. In the former case you get a double up, but your prize pool equity doesn't come even close to doubling. In the latter case you just win outright when you win the allin.

The combination of your current chipstack's prize pool equity being low along having the chance to knock out an opponent and win immediately means you stack off wider.

No I'm not, I'm disagreeing with you.

Do you understand why your post#6 example and the OP are different? It has nothing to do with BU's shoving range. Check BU's range in your example and see that it's very wide.

Ya, I would legit expect that this is a snap call and not close.

For the record I don't know how to justify stacking off with A7s. Is there an ante? Plain ICM calculations using the stack sizes in the original image suggest we need around 55% equity and should stack off with {88+, AT+}.

Actually I probably did put an ante in Since I do MTTs, not SnGs, usually its just the default. Didnt even think about that, it would change things

I ran it again with no ante. Doesn't change our range a lot actually, just a touch tighter. Still basically top 10%.

But I also ran it with the btn and co stacks swapped to see your original point. And we only call 99+ vs a big stack so that makes complete sense.
