I pulled my money off. I wasn't playing there at all so they probably don't care. However, this sort of practice concerns me about their intentions and my ability to pull my money off in the future.

Even if it wasn't intentionally slimy, any rational representative would see how misleading the tournament was once OP emails them. The universal disdain in this thread is reason alone to make good.

If they aren't willing to do that, how could anyone feel safe with them holding the $$.

Why Cake still has any players left is shocking to me... I played there for over 3 years, games were soft, made a grip of cash, but bailed for reasons that everyone should have seen/see. The site is now trash, its run to stay afloat, its not run to grow, its not run to please their player base, its not run with any regard to player experience.

Who would play on a site that doesn't have a tech person that can stop all of the crashing after all of this time? That one question should cause anyone with a brain to see that its a two bit operation at the moment. They CAN'T even get their software/client to run. If they can't even get that right....

I don't usually read MTTc so I'm just seeing this. This is a disgusting angleshoot by Cake Poker. Any honest poker room would either have paid it if this was a mistake or not have advertised it this way. They had to know they wouldn't meet the implied guarantee and went with it anyway. I will do what I can to get this word out even more. They deserve all the bad press they can get for this move.

+1 will spread the news as much as i can, totally unacceptable. there are far too many options out there for us to put up with such a pos site anyway.

I know this is besides the point and my own issue but I just can't resist throwing Cake under the bus further. I won an Aussie Millions package on Cake. This tournament met the guarantee and paid out cash to finishers 2-4or5. I asked them almost 3 months in advance if I could take the cash value, substitute it for another event or send someone in my place bc my dog was diagnosed w/ osteosarcoma. They dragged me along the entire time never saying "no" but not saying yes either. Just that they would get back to me on it. They ended up not giving me anything and informing me of this a week b4 the event started. Is it crazy of me to think this is really wrong? That they just get to pocket the 11.5K. I was also playing on DoylesRoom so I kinda feel like Cake used me to get one over on them for their departure. Scummy ass site
