You have to call 3980 to win 5480, so (3980/9460 = 0.4207) we need >42.07% equity to win. Even against a top 10% range, we're deffo getting the right price. And we really shouldn't be r/folding on a 15x stack. I think the only decision is really whether to openjam or r/c and with a hand like AJs, I like r/c. Even if we're flatted, we have a hand that plays decent post, and by r/c instead of openjamming, we're allowing people to jam wider than they can call.

Open jamming is probably the way to go.

Having a raise/fold range with 15bb is also fine.

Obv there are tables and situations where it makes sense, but in general having a r/f range from MP2 on 15x can't be that great.

In this spot (obviously depending on the nature of the table), some suited connectors and/or small pocket pairs.

What about Ax hands with x being below like 9 or so?

yeah, sometimes, once again depends how the table is playing. The only problem is if you raise, get called when you are holding something like A6 and you flop top pair, it can be hard to get away from. The good thing is that with something like A6, if you MR and get jammed over you can throw it away easy.

I feel like if I have A6 and 15 left and I flop top pair it's leggggggggggggo time.

Open jam or fold pre. Would be able to tell you 10x more accurately if I knew previous few hands, table dynamics, and stats on every player behind you. How far out from money? Sng or mtt?

I'm more towards openjamming this hand because I hate getting called by one or two villains (if BB is not that shallowstacked he's gonna complete with some playable hands) and then check/folding or c-bet/folding on a missed board, which is gonna hurt my stack pretty badly (in c-bet/fold scenario something about 5bbs at least) and most of the time we have the best hand preflop. Like opening hands that aren't good enough to jam or call a reshove 15bb deep, like suited connectors as fidstar-poker said.

pairs seem way better to jam than ajs

MP3:16/6 51 HANDS
CO: 0/0 4 HANDS
BTN:22/16 39 HANDS
BB: 30/0 63 HANDS

70 players left about 30 paid, MTT
lost most of my stack to BTN when they raised my turn bet 9 hands before hand. (will be posting hand shortly)
everyone appeared to be playing straight forward but im not the best on picking up table dynamics

went for the raise originally as i was hoping to take down the blinds but was happy to get in if raised
but looking at it now if i was called and did not hit id have to fold and be left with a stack with not much fold equity especially as the blinds would be going up soon.
1. would it of been better to just go with it on a missed flop or fold to any bet?
2. what would the minimum Ax or pocket pair you guys would raise with in the same situation? thanks

Yeah I'd shove. You did leave out sb but I think this is enough info to say its a good shove.

prolly lean towards open-jamming since we have 5 players still to act after us.
