I'm just doing a real quick synopsis here:

Merge $5 rebuy 18 players left cash outs started at 20. Blinds at 8k/4k no anties.

I have 17k in chips in BB, 8k posted to blind with 9k behind.

Folds to SB and he ships, I have 32 off suit. Is this not an obvious snap call?

I mean the quick math would be 2.77/1 odds with roughly 35% to win against over cards. I know that's a pretty obvious call but with pairs factored in etc just wanted to throw it up here...

FYI no pay jump untill 12th place.

Spoiler:
Call. SB shows AQ. Board: 622,5,2

Yeah, snap it off. 2 to 1 is in general a call with a decent hand and anything lower than 2.33 to 1 (30%) is a quick call unless the person is a nit in heads up situations for all ins.

Oh, and nice hand.

I'm erasing all good notes I had on you"

I responded: "Yeah 37% getting 4/1 odds... bad call"

The comment really annoyed me... And my initial look at the pot odds was obviously pretty off so I studied the hand a little more and figured I'd post it.

On a side not it's pretty amazing the kid in the SB had AQ... I mean that's how a fair amount of these players in this tourney series play their short stacks... They will happily blind themselves to death. I think the fact that they play that tight does change the obvious shove/call ranges. I mean the kid in this example is not shoving 50% of his range in this spot, which makes 32 off significantly more vulnerable. I'm not exactly sure what the cut off would be, but if I have another couple blinds or so worth of chips there, I'd have to consider folding I think.

yeah dont let anything ppl say annoy you dont even treat chat box seriously lol unless you're somehow milking a weak spot at the table (tho that's a topic for another thread entirely) or tilting a weak spot

in general tho i'm inclined to never talk strategy of any sort, to any degree, at the table

Lol at that resident genius person. Even against AQ we have 33% equity which is fine to call off against even if you knew his hand.

As weird as it may sound, call off here unless he's only doing this with like only super premiums. If it gets folded to you in the SB next hand then you're basically doubling up to a stack you had the previous hand and if not then you're probably only playing for 3BB.

don't explain the math to people who think you are a "bingo player". just let them think you are terrible and make the wrong adjustments against you in other spots.

With over half your stack invested already, you have to be calling any two cards. With 3 to 3.5bbs, I can see folding with the bottom 7% of hands, but not when you have over half of your stack invested already.

Just type in "32o is my favorite hand", "I knew my cards were live", or "I knew I would hit quads".

That was a bad response. Turn the chat off if it'll annoy you. As per the hand lol call.
