80-man $20 tournament.. I never really know what to do when people make incredibly donk plays and I look down at a decent hand. What does a donk openshove with in a $20 tourney? I was thinking maybe TT+, AJs+, AQo+ ? Literally first hand so zero reads. Be honest - in the same spot what do you do and why? Can anyone find a fold? Just looking back on it, it seems kind of stupid to go broke when I have $0 invested into the pot and the blinds are incredibly low.

I call too. Open shove is weird, but i see it with small pairs and Ax a lot. Unlucky.

I dont think he is doing this with lower pair than yours the best you are up agsint is probably ace king, except maybe jacks(real stretch)
you have invested 20 dollars to have a coinflip at best, you double up to 3k if you win but doubling up at this stage doesnt really mean you are in an awesome position to win tourny, IMO tourneys are won nearer the end of the tournaments let this one go.

In lower buy in tournaments, I have seen a lot of people shoving the very hand with AA/KK hoping to get called by someone who thinks they are FOS. It works, apparently.

Yeah sometimes. The other 95% of the time they are FOS.
