I'm flatting here to disguise the strength of my hand. I could see a 3bet being preferable, though. A 3bet would put a lot of pressure on UTG2, and the loose button is likely to fold more often than not (although they're likely calling here).
I'm checking the flop because we have the best hand here most of the time and don't need much protection.
I'm calling BTNs initial bet because UTG2 is passive and I expect them to fold if they don't have anything. I want to keep the BTN barreling if they have a smaller Q and not scare them away with a reraise. If they shove and the BTN folds, I'm calling. If they shove and the BTN shoves too, I'm not sure what I'm doing. Very afraid of an 8 in that situation.
I'm shoving the turn for a couple reasons.
1. If the BTN has backdoor hearts, I want to charge them for their draw.
2. If the BTN does not have backdoor hearts, I want to get it in now and avoid an action-killing heart on the river.
What do you all think? Are there any points that should have been played differently?
Preflop - you have a very easy jam pre. You are ahead of MP1 range and they have only 20ish bb. And you are well ahead of the BTN's.
As played, the flop is a standard check call. In fact, you should be looking to call down this hand.
I really do not like you turn play because you will probably only get action when you are well behind and make villain fold their bluffs. Basically, you accomplish nothing. Aren't you worried from 8x hands? BTN should have some in his range.
