No one's a fan of the A9, of course, and I only play it here if the table seems both loose and bad. I have no specific reads on opponent.

Should I have have called the turn here or just let it go? I thought there was a decent chance he had a worse ace than me, since he was in the blind, but now I think it was a bad move. What does anyone think?

If i was gonna play ths hand id be raising it. Ull likely have position and ull have more info on BBs hand if he calls. As played id fold turn. More than likely u have the worst hand here.

I just fold pf, A9o is garbage in ep. Flop is good, calling is good too. Kinda looks like he turned some 2p here on the turn and I would just let it go as well.

PF is just nasty bad, A9o is total trash. Rest of it is just what happens usually when you limp A9o from MP.

So what does it take to play here pre? A10?

Offsuit? I'd speculate with AJ here. I mean the problem is that offsuit aces, any of them really, just play terribly in multi-way pots. They make second best hands that are hard to fold way too often.

i fold pre 75%, 25% raise. As played (your raise on flop is ok imho) i fold the turn. what do you beat here? in best scenario UTG has Ax with x>9 or a 2p

I don't think we should overlimp any unsuited ace in these spots. I like raising AJo+ and folding ATo- in this specific spot. Hands like A9o are just complete garbage in multiway pots. More flexibility & stylistic choice with suited aces.

I just fold turn, that bet looks very strong to me. We don't beat much.

Why the hell are you limping in with A9o?

If I were to play it here it be for small raise to try and buy the button at least and get heads up...

I dont get limping here really...what are you hoping to catch top 2 on a fryish board in an unraised pot..??? Who is going to pay you off>?

Just much that BS. I might come in on the button maybe...just depends even then I proceed with caution.

Nancy...Nancy...Nancy...

we all have the same post every day and we say the same thing...A9, KJ, A6 suited, QJ etc...

you love to limp these and justify it but it keeps putting you in bad situations...ad we keep saying raise it or fold it pre and you keep limping...,

what are we gonna do to stop this???

Ok, A9o 2 from the button, on a short-handed table, with only 1 limper is trash?

I'd raise here, it's a good hand, the only reason i would toss this hand away in this situation is because the blinds are really small, and even a 4, 5x raise would probably get callers, but even if there are, it's still a good hand.

Obviously after you raised and if the bb called, you knew he's hand was not totally trash, this way you might actually be up agains 84, A4, 56 and all of them could be easilly folded by the bb on the face of your raise.

If we are not agressive when the table is short, someone else will be, in this spot, the only reason not to try anything is the small blinds and no one is desperate to do anything, also sometimes ppl limp in this spots in EP with AJ, AQ, but like i said, at least if you raised, you would know someone had a hand of some sort (with that flop ppl would probably only call you with an Ace or a set, so you would have to be cautious of someone betting or calling you Post-Flop.

As stated, raise or fold pf. As for your flop play, what are you hoping to achieve with your raise, an A with a weaker kicker? There are only four weaker kickers. Your raise really only makes weaker hands fold and stronger hands call (A bad spot to raise imo). The turn call is equally bad, and is a perfect example of why you don't limp A9o. It is a mediocre hand that often ends up outkicked. PLEASE avoid hands like this, it will save you alot of money in the long run.

these statements are very contradictory of your actions. You only play if table is loose and bad, but have no reads to confirm this and play anyway. I digress, i think the river is a fold. I think he has the wheel or two low pair. No other hands really make sense, unless he is loose, bad and spewy. The triple play of villains.

Agree on both counts. I hate calling the turn and then folding the river when I've already made my hand. Have to make decision right there.

Please come in with a raise if playing this.

I don't necessarily mean to be condescending or rude, but playing loose and bad isn't the best way to adjust to a table playing loose and bad.

LOL +1... fight fire with fire... or fight limping with limping.

Simple answer is raise/fold pf and fold > raising.

Obv playing "bad" is never right, but isn't it correct to combat a loose table by loosening up yourself?

IMO if you are limping, you need to be limping hands that can flop big hands. connected cards, gappers, small PP, suited Ax, maybe Kx. You want two cards that flop big, not flop TP crap kicker in a 5 way pot where you are never sure of your hand.
