Read on opponent:

had seen him play hands aggressively before the flop and on the flop. saw showdowns from him ranging from Ax, high connectors, PP's, all of which he raised preflop.

thoughts on how i played this hand?

i had a feeling this hand like we were sharing an ace.

1. shove or fold preflop, being shorthanded against someone you've seen be aggressive i shove
2. on the flop you should check shove, he'll fold a lot of better hands and even when called you have good equity
3. i don't like the river bet tbh he's probably calling with pps that beat you and he has those fairly often, granted not as often as an A hi type hand but he calls with those a fair % of the time too

I shove pre against an aggressive player and also I and check raise flop.

i had a very strong suspicion that we both had an ace, or he was on total air (89s, 9Ts, etc.)

i had no reason to believe that any part of that board hit him, so i figured my hand/draw was strong enough to see another street with (and hopefully induce another bluff). the river card was not a bad card for my hand the way i saw it, b/c if he was on total air (or shared an ace) he would have seen me play the hand similarly to theway he had seen me play top pair in previous hands (which would mean the river makes me full)
