Pre Flop: (pot: 8,000) Hero has A 4

fold, Hero raises to 8,000, fold, fold, BB calls 4,000

Flop: (20,000, 2 players) J K 8
BB checks, Hero bets 8,000, BB calls 8,000

Turn: (36,000, 2 players) K
BB checks, Hero checks

River: (36,000, 2 players) A
BB bets 18,000, Hero calls 18,000

-No reliable reads on BB

I intentionally kept that flop bet small.

I think his turn check said J or 8 or some sort of draw. Checking the turn with a K isn't a good idea for him. Plus, many of his kings likely 3bet pre.

What do you think of his river bet and sizing?
I imagine that I'm ahead a good portion of the time or we are splitting.

looks ok. Not excited about it, but I think there's bluffs/busted flush draws in his range.

Also most other aces you will be splitting with.

^^^^ exactly - we have a bluff catcher and we're chopping with other aces. I would not hate a fold. But I'd say all in all nh.

everybody likes a cbet otf? personally i think he will call with a lot of his range so betting flop and checking turn is burning money (but that K is prob one of the worst cards to bet again). river is meh, dont think we´re good that often but prob would make the call in game

I don't like the flop bet either. Esp not into the massive CL.

On a 22x stack, I open-fold this with a short-stack in the SB and an aggressive bigstack in the BB. If the shortie sticks it in, it's gonna be gross, and if BB defends, A4o flops really bad and will not win a lot when it hits.

Flop c-bet depends a lot on how V reacts to c-bets. In a vacuum, I think this flop is better for your range than his, so c-betting can't be terrible, but if V never folds to c-bet and raises draws in spots like this, I think checking back and preserving our FE for a reshove is fine.

On the river, he is never betting worse for value, so it's either a bluff or Ax+. Getting 3-1, I think he has enough missed FDs or SDs to call.
