This was like 20 players left out of 800, so already ITM but payout is top 3 heavy. In retrospect I think this is too wide, right?

Probably. At this point in the tournament you should be paying very close attention to how the blinds react vs. your LP opens. If they're huge nits, you can steal more often from (especially from HJ doesn't look as conspicuous), but id rather be jamming hands like A8s,A9/910s/J10/KQ,KJ that are gonna play much better if called by small-med pairs. Generally, ppl are gonna be playing nitty to FT in a 4$ tournament, so look for spots where they aren't likely to stand up to you and juice them.
