This is from the PStars 30k VIP tourney but really just a general question. What do you like here pf: 3x, 4x, ship?

its way better to raise here imo, i want someone else to shove .

if we openshove, the only hand we will have very good equity against is the shortstack, every other stack thats calling will be slightly +ev or more or less 50%
if we induce bluffshoves with worse than what they wouldve just called with weve made a good play.

openshoving makes our hand worse than it is.

raising to 400 and calling a shove, and shoving are both okay. i think it depends on the frequency of how much you think the table is going to flat you and get you in trouble postflop wether you r/c or shove, but both options are okay in my book, i slightly lean towards shoving tho for you dont have to see a scary flop

openshoving this also should balance your entire range (if anyone is paying attention at the table lol) but it just makes life so much easier for you, you will be snap called by all kinds of marginal hands more often than not, the blinds represent a good portion of your stack
raise calling may be okay, but openshoving is way better.

misread a bit, well now when i know how it really is i guess a shove is absolutely fine but there is def value in standardraising

no, they are perfectly fine. i play tons of these games (micro mtts/sngs, and i have a very solid understanding of their ranges in variious spots). And alot of the times while their range may be as tight as 77+ AJ+ KQ, most of the time it is super ****in loose. (and if their range is 77+ AJ, KQ, we are still +EV vs this calling range + we steal the center chips enough for it to be ++EV either way).

edit: im also open shoving here with 3-4k.
