Villain was a donk, this may be standard but I got my ass kicked today due to situations like this and was wondering if I was doing something wrong.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (8 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button (t4956)
SB (t2000)
Hero (t3295)
UTG (t3155)
UTG+1 (t2070)
MP1 (t940)
MP2 (t5825)
CO (t3785)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9, 9.

Don't listen to the man. This is shove all-day.

Simple Math:
You fold: -150 chips (you lose your BB)

You shove:
Let's say his opening range from LP is top 20% (which may be tight for a donk)
22+,A7s+,K9s+,QTs+,JTs,A9o+,KTo+ 20.1 %

Now let's say his calling your shove range is:
66+,ATs+,KQs,AJo+ 8.3%, meaning vs 99
Hand 0: 51.177% 50.50% 00.68% 90797116 1214857.00 { 66+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+ }
Hand 1: 48.823% 48.15% 00.68% 86565090 1214857.00 { 9d9s }
Lose

(11.8/20.1) * 900 = 528.35 <--you win this without confrontation, ie you shove and he folds
the times he calls
(8.3/20.1) * (0.4882) * 3520 (the net amount if you win) = 709.61
(8.3/20.1) * (0.5018) * -3295 (the net amount if you lose) = -274.57
528.35+709.61-274.57 = 963.39

This is a 1100 difference (7 BB), that is how much equity you have in this shove.

feels like I'm going thread to thread and copying Tilter's responses...but this is an easy shove.

Flatting is bad...we can't 3-bet to do a go and go (stacks aren't right...flop shove would be way small)...only choice left is shove.
