Hi everybody... I was playing this Deep Stack Tournament on Poker Stars and got into this tricky situation. Just wanted some feedback to see if I played it well....

MP1 had been playing every single hand before and had been really lucky today. He was loosing lots of chips but sucked out and won a huge amount again. You probably know these kind of players. I put him on a draw and the other guy on aces or a high pair or ak, because his huge raise seemed to indicate he didnt want a call... Should I be afraid of an overset here, or is my call correct in this spot??? We are very deep stacked...

I think getting it in with a set everytime is more +EV than trying to figure out the odd time when it is beat.

Yes, a good hand with which to get eliminated. Also a good hand to triple up....

Anyone fold this preflop?

not sure I love the setmine for a 6X open here with stacks as they are but not the worst thing...lately I have been reconsidering lower pairs here and 88 is pretty borderline but I may fold pre...lost of chips to risk if we will just c/f most of the time but I may be leaky there...

rather play pots in LP where I am driving the action rather than reacting.

flop is fine...nh and never even consider dumping here...you can be afraid of oversetting and skip the fistpump but never fold here

I really like the call here pre. You have two big stacks in the hand, one of whom probably has a true monster that you can stack if you hit your set, so I think your implied odds here are great. You also have position on both of them so you have a very good chance of winning a big pot when you hit your set. And its 5x UTG, not 6x.

What do you use for implied odds for set value? I've been using 10-1....

I think 10-1 is a good number for considering setmining, and anything over 20-1 is automatic IMHO.

call imho. you called to hit a set and now you've hit you have to get it in. you're probably way ahead. MP1 from your description probably has some goofy two pair he thinks is the nuts or a draw, you're way ahead of his range, TT aside. i've been playing a good few of these low buy in tourneys recently and players are pretty bad - if utg is so bad that he shoved the flop after hitting his set with KK ot TT here you just have lol and live with it.
